No. Not for long. How do you propose to lose 7 lbs a week?

No, it would not be healthy. It takes a calorie deficit of 3500 to lose ONE pound. This is a weekly goal. You can add to your calorie deficit through your diet and working out. You should not aim to workout to burn 3500 and not eat anything either because you put your body at risk for injury. The max you should lose per week is 1-2lbs. I know it is a gradual process, and many people propose quick-fixes, but the problem with quick fixes are that they are quick to break and gain back too. You want to find a plan that works for you.

How much weight are you trying to lose? Have you calculated your calories using the meal guide wtih ChaLEAN? If you need help with it just let me know. I've done mine and several others and lost weight. emoticon I know you were also looking for meal plan ideas on another post...I have a month's worth if you'd like me to send them to you. My friends and I have had really good results using them. I also have a group of 5 starting in January to help get the max out of your workout, diet, and motivation. Would that be something that would help you?

Also, have you heard about the ultimate reset? It has helped with a quick weight loss, but not a pound a day...but maybe 5-10 lbs in 3 weeks which is still really good.

A pound of fat is 3500 calories.

Seriously, if for instance you weighed 200 lbs, your total daily energy expenditure would be about 2500 calories excluding exercise. If you ate at a 1000 cal deficit, only 1500 calories per day, you would have to burn off another 2500 calories each day. That would be the equivalent of about 5 or 6 Chalean extreme workouts every day.

If you cut your diet to a very unhealthy 800 cal per day you would have a 1700 cal daily deficit and would need to burn off the other 1800 cal through exercise. That would be about 3 or 4 Chalean extreme workouts each day done at top effort.

So, no. It would be neither healthy nor possible.

I suggest a thorough reading of the program and diet guide for realistic expectations and safe and healthy weight loss.

absolutely not. it's normal to lose about pound a week but not per day. i'm not even sure if that's physically possible without cutting off a limb. and you need to eat more than salads, sandwiches etc -- you need a balanced diet of lean proteins, healthy carbs and healthy fats. i like the 40% protein, 30% healthy carbs, 30% healthy fats ratio.

google "harris benedict equation" and calculate your daily caloric needs for weight loss. once you figure this out, track what you eat using myfitnesspal or sparkpeople and make sure you eat your target calories per day. under-eating has the opposite effect for weight loss and will really mess up your metabolism.

incorporate moderate to intense exercise regularly (about 4-5x/week) and eat clean. it's the only way to lose weight properly and keep it off.

realistic expectations are key to sustaining a healthy lifestyle. make changes that will keep you healthy, not make you "skinny". when i started, i wasn't concerned about dropping X pounds; i wanted to get healthy and eventually fit into my size 2 pants. i knew it wasn't going to happen overnight, i knew it was going to take time so i took the pressure off myself and dedicated all of 2012 to hit my fitness goals. doing this is what kept me on the wagon all this time -- because i never set any unrealistic goals and enjoyed what i was doing. since i started back in january 2012, i've only stepped on the scale twice... i just went by inches lost and how i felt. liberating myself from the scale, knowing that it will take time to lose weight and always challenging myself is how i lost all my weight and got fit and healthy.

Lots of people THINK they've lost a pound of fat a day once in a while, but it's just the margin of error in measuring ourselves. It can be water weight, glycogen... But more to the point, losing 30 lbs in 30 days isn't a healthy or realistic goal. I like to remind people that what takes years to put on isn't going to come off 100 times quicker.

Yes it is possible, So many people on Beachbody are proving it.
In 2009 I enjoyed a weight/fat loss competition with fellow workmates, I lost 48 pounds in 90 days and 3 times in a row I lost 9 pounds per week. I went from a size 38x30 pants to a size 32x30 pants. I ate alot of salad, fruit, fish, chicken, oatmeal Ice water and other healthy foods. I had to change my carefree diet and stop drinking soda pop completely. I did not engage in some starvation diets either. I used the Weight watchers format.
I did alot of cardio, running, swimming, jump rope, Insanity and other excersizes.

I had to be careful because I knew that if I was not careful, the pounds would come back on to haunt me, so I had to maintain a healthy diet and excersize. So make sure you do your homework and find out what works for you, It's a learning experience how the body works so make it fun.

Wishing you the best of health,
