Recovery drink for fun
Recovery drink for fun

I've cut out soda and that kind of stuff. I only drink water, little milk, and some juice. I love the orange recovery drink. Can I drink that whenever and NOT just after my workouts? Water gets very bland and boring for me and leaves me craving something with some stinkin' taste.

Hi! I would not recommend drinking the recovery drink at any other time than after a workout. Its going to add additonal calories you don't need. It is formulated to work best post workout to allow your muscles to recover. I find adding lemons or other fruit to my water helps. You can try with an orange. Its not ideal, but you can use something like Crystal light etc to add some flavor as well.

How much water are you taking in? What workout program are you doing?

Cheers,
Christina

About 3-4 normal size bottles of water and I'm doing P90X. That makes sense about the recovery drink. It's my favorite part of the workout.

Yeah, you definitely don't want to drink the recovery drink outside of post workout. It's high in sugars, which is normally what we want to avoid, but after an intense workout your blood sugar level is low and you want to raise it back up and get that spike in insulin. That's primarily why it tastes so good; it's one of the few times you're encouraged to drink simple, sugary carbs!
