*** IMPORTANT TIPS ***

Nutrition
• If you want to see great results, you have to focus on your nutrition as much as the workouts. Nutrition plays a key role in how you will reach your goals and attain the new and better you! Be prepared by getting a solid nutrition plan in place prior to starting. You can do this week-to-week or even plan out your entire month. Over time you will learn new eating habits that you can carry with you for the rest of your life.

• Shakeology is a great way to meet all of your nutritional needs! As a meal or a snack it fuels your body with everything it needs in order to Stay in the Fight everyday!

Track your progress
Where are you now? Where do you want to be? Have Goals!

• Nothing is more important or motivating than to see where you started and how you are progressing along the way! It is so CRUCIAL that you do the following BEFORE you begin:

• Take your Measurements
• Take your before & after pictures
• Take the fit test

I can’t tell you how many people on my previous threads told me they were so mad at themselves for not doing this before they started.

If you want the best results, if you want to maximize your results, not just in the Insanity Workout, but any fitness program, you MUST track your progress. You simply cannot get to where you want to be, unless you know where you’ve been.

Also utilize the tools that TBB provides. Complete your profile, and track your measurements and weight online. I use MyFitnessPal online to track my food diary as well as my calories burned each day. I would highly recommend signing up and add me as a buddy. My id is BumpusBurn. MFP also has apps for iPhone, Andriod, and Blackberry.

Pre-Workout

• These workouts are intense! The right fuel will help your body "Stay in the Fight" with the intensity you need! If you eat a pre-workout meal, is very important to wait about an hour before you work out. Eat too soon and you could end up losing the meal instead of bringing the intensity!

• If you workout first thing in the morning like I do you might want to skip eating and take a pre-fuel 15 minutes prior to working out. I drink about 1/3 of my recovery drink prior to working out. It gives me all the energy I need to complete the toughest workouts.

Post-Workout

Keep in mind the first week is exceptionally rough! Expect to be sore and tired: Do not give up! Your body will adapt quickly and in no time you will start seeing some crazy results. You may want to do a few non-dvd workouts prior to starting just to get your body & mind ready.

• Recovery: After an intense COMBAT workout, it is vital to recover the right way. I cannot stress enough how important this is. By adding a recovery drink immediately after your workout, you will significantly decrease the amount of soreness you will experience while your body recovers. Intense exercise will burn off glycogen stores in the muscles which leaves the body without its primary source of energy. The longer you are in this state, the greater the chances your body will panic and may actually breakdown your existing muscle to create more glycogen—the exact opposite of what we are working for! Plus low blood sugar levels in the brain will lead to fatigue, irritability, lack of concentration, depression, etc. The Beachbody Recovery Drink will replenish your muscles with glycogen, you will not only avoid muscle breakdown, but you will promote muscle growth and keep your energy levels up. The Beachbody Recovery Drink is a great product and I highly recommend it.

• Accountability: Post your accountability DAILY on the message boards! This is the key to staying motivated. Here is an interesting statistic I’ve noticed over the past couple of threads I’ve been in. Out of all the people who join the thread and commit to the workouts, less than 20% will complete the full 60 day program! But what I found is, of those of post every day they are 90% likely to complete the program and transform their lives.

The message boards and forums are a great way to meet others that are going through exactly what you are and it helps stay accountable and motivated! Your forum buddies will have tips and information that has helped them and could help you as well. You will be doing the same in no time!

So ready to get started? First step, post your commitment to join the team, and second, add me as a buddy and I'll give you more important information. I look forward to getting to know you and seeing the new you!

STAY IN THE FIGHT!!

Tomorrow is the big day, I am starting combat if I have to go it alone on this board I will. I plan on posting how things are going everyday and sharing tip I learned while losing 120 lbs as well as what I learn along this journey. The day I have been waiting for is finally here, I started true supreme warrior schedule today and kick start 30 is the first workout. Needless to say it is a change from the three months of Tai Cheng I just finished up but is was a really good workout. I know I have some things that I am going to need to work on for the next one. I fell behind a little on the punches and my foot work has a bit of improving to do. Great 30 minutes I can already feel the workout in my legs a bit 45 minutes after the workout but I do feel energized for the rest of my day. Tomorrow is the HIIT power workout and my wife tells me it lights your legs on fire, I can't wait to see how I do.

You are not alone....my combat shipped and is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. I plan on starting on Sunday and have already added the supreme warrior schedule to my workout calendar. In the meantime...pure cardio insanity done....tough workout today, got 2/3 through and then my body just said REST! But that is fine...that is still better than nothing..I think as I am getting stronger I am working harder early and run out of steam. Will have to work on pacing myself.

How was the light the legs on fire power hiit workout?

Today was the second day of Combat for me and my wife was right it put a good burn on the legs, I think it would have been a little easier had I done this program right after INSANITY or another higher impact program rather than doing Tai Cheng before it but I am glad I did that program because all my pains are gone and my balance is much better. One thing I will say is I need to get some heavier weights before next week. I think I could have gotten a little more burn on the upper body part if I had a little more weight. Tomorrow is power KATA 45 back to punching and kicking so I am looking forward to that one! I will let you know how it goes.

Day three Combat in the books, Power Kata 45, it was another good workout but I am going to have to do a little more work on the foot work again. They go through the punches and kicks so fast that right as I get the hang of the footing we move on to another move but I will get it. It seemed like this workout was the least challenging so far but I am betting it is because I am SO SORE that I was holding back a little without realizing it. Right now it is hurting just to get up and down from the chair not to mention my arms and back are sore from all the punches. This is WAY MORE of a total body workout than I think I expected but the workouts are awesome and I am loving it so far. Tomorrow is Ultimate Cardio 60, one hour of punching and kicking. Can't wait!

@Che, way to workout on Christmas I decided to just let lose and eat until I was going to explode.

@Nic, good job getting caught up, let me know how those workouts go I am doing the supreme warrior schedule.

Today was the first day of week two and the first day that I used my new toy the Scosche Rythm heart rate monitor. This thing is great, you connect it blue tooth to your phone and download the app then you start it up and it tracks everything. Then it pushes it to myfitnesspal.
The best thing about it is that it found I was burning a lot more calories than I thought, I ended up burning 444 calories in the 30 minute kick start workout. If you have an iPhone or an android phone it is totally worth the $99 cost. You should check it out.

I am a week from taking a test that I have been working on and will have a lot more free time after I finish it.

I am definetly going to invest in a heart rate monitor. The Hiit 20 took a toll on me Ive never felt. Im not sure if I was just working off water wait and now im working off fat but Im sweating like crazy and my heart is going out of control. O yea so far im down another pound

@Che88, I think that is a great idea, if you have an android or an iPhone I suggest the Scosche Rhythm it connects to your phone via blue tooth and connect to your arm so there are no wires then it checks heart rate and calories burned plus it uses the phone's GPS to track runs and walks so you get all the benefits of a GPS heart rate monitor that costs around 350 dollars but the Rhythm is only 99 dollars. I got it for Christmas and love it.

Today was Combat 60 and I have been working harder and harder each day so it was a great workout! Tomorrow is plyo and I made an adjustment to my HRM so it will give me a little more accurate readings.

@Che Combat is awesome, I finished week two today and am still loving every minute, it really is a challenge and burns the calories. My HRM told me I burned about 700 calories in the 60 minute workout today, can't ask for too much more than that!
