Recipe question - how big a cup?
Hi,

Hope someone can help.

I'm following the Slim in 6 programme and hope I'm on the right forum. I've been following the meal plan religiously but I'm worried about some of the recipe amounts. E.g, how much is 1/3 a cup of blueberries? I have cups of all sizes in my kitchen! Is it possible to convert these cups into ounces?

I'm also wondering about the '2 slices of bread'. My supermarket do medium and small slices. Which is it? I'm based in the UK.

Cheers

Cass

when they say cup, they don't mean drinking cup. They mean measuring cup, which is 250 ml. A 1/3 cup would then be around 83 ml. A lot of the time I am away from my measuring cups, so I have learned to 'wing it' using sizes in my hands (keep in mind, I have small hands). So a full cup of berries in my hand is if the berries fill my hand when it is cupped like a bowl. 1/3 of a cup would then be if the berries fill just the palm of my hand, without going onto my fingers/thumb.
Hope that helps!

A cup in the USA is 8 fluid ounces. About a quarter of a liter.
