Results and Recovery Formula and Whey Protein
Hi Everyone!
I am starting P90X and I have invested in the Results and Recovery Formula. I am used to taking whey protein (20g 30-45 minutes before workout and 40g after) lifting. I was wondering how I should rearrange my protein intake while using the Results and Recovery Formula on P90X strength training days. Can I just add a scoop of whey isolate (28g protein) to the Results and Recovery Formula so that it bumps up the protein to around 40g, or should I just do protein pre-workout and only the Results and Recovery Formula post-workout?

I have heard about this 4:1 carb to protein ratio for post workout, so I was thinking that maybe in order to add more protein post workout, I could eat a p90X peak performance protein bar (20g protein, 30g carb). By substituting a bar for the post-workout whey, I can still be taking in more carbs than protein. Thoughts?

Note: I drink Shakeology for breakfast every morning and add 1 scoop (20g) whey protein to that. I also take a Casein shake (25g protein) at night about an hour before bed.

Hi Bill,

I use the results and recovery formula after every workout with the exception of Stretch.

In my opinion the formula just as it is should be the way to go, I also dont eat or drink anything else for 30 minutes after R&R. You can adjust your protein intake in the other meals during the day. Add more whey at a different time, If i was doing this since I do my workouts in the afternoon I would workout, then have R&R, then have dinner and have a small protein shake with dinner to increase the protein intake.
