Insanity/Les Mills Combat Hybrid
Does anyone have or know of a Combat/Insanity hybrid? I love the intensity of Insanity and don't feel like Combat could give results like that program, but I also love martial arts/boxing/etc.

Help please!! emoticon

ChangingFaces22, I've done 2 rounds of Insanity over the past couple years and just started Combat this morning. From doing the first workout and previewing the others I can say that, while Combat may not be on the same level as Insanity as far as tiring you out, it also will not disappoint! A few days ago I finished a round of the non-Beachbody program called Rushfit, which I absolutely love. It may not have the "go all out till you drop" nature of Insanity, but I think it's one of the more complete programs and can be beneficial for all fitness levels. I got Rushfit because I also enjoy the boxing/martial arts type workouts, and that's why I also purchased Combat. The reason I say all this is because I was also looking around to see if anyone that started Combat is doing a hybrid, whether it's with Insanity, P90X, Rushfit, etc. I couldn't find any so I decided to make one up myself. Basically I decided to challenge myself and do 2-a-days, which I found is possible since, IMO, both Rushfit and Combat have challenging yet fun workouts which will not ask for too much of your time. Since you like the intensity of Insanity I would say making up a hybrid Combat/Insanity program of your own would be a great idea. It's also fun to make up your own routine. You don't necessarily have to do 2-a-days but if you want to that's great.

Here's a way that I'd approach Combat/Insanity. Not sure which calendar you're using so I'll use the basic Combat Warrior schedule just as an example, adding Insanity workouts wherever I think they'd best fit in. Week one would look something like this: Day 1- Combat 30, Day 2- HIIT Power (that involves weights, so adding Plyo Cardio Circuit is optional), Day 3- Combat 45/Cardio Abs, Day 4- Cardio Recovery, Day 5- HIIT Plyo or Cardio Power and Resistance, Day 6- Combat 30 or Pure Cardio, Day 7- rest. For day 6, there aren't many workouts as intense as Pure Cardio so I'm thinking you'd do that instead of the Combat 30, emoticon since you love intensity! Besides Combat 30 was already done that week and it's the first workout of week 2, so day 6 is a good day to do Insanity.

Sorry for getting long-winded, but just wanted to help the best I can since it seems we share similar preferences in workouts. Hopefully it does help you, but if you already found a suitable hybrid then great. Let me know if you have questions on anything. Have a nice day.

Mike

I was wonderng the same thing, I did a round of Insanity back in August and i'm doing Combat now. I am doing the Ultimate Reset when I'm done and then I want to do a hybrid of the two programs because I love the intesity of Insanity and the martial arts/strength of Combat. That way I don't have to buy another program. I was thinking of alternating days or combining shorter programs (HIIT/Combat 30) and Cardio Abs to try and make it work. Is there a way to auto schedule in WOWY?
