Anyone using Fat Gripz?
Anyone using Fat Gripz?

I just got a pair of these, you can google them if you don't know what they are. It definitely makes things quite a bit harder, you can feel the forearm working big time.

I'm about to do a slightly modified Asylum volume 1 to prepare me for volume 2, and using the fat gripz especially on like Upper Elite seems scary...but I suppose that's the point is it not? hah. Anyone else used these on beachbody workouts?

I've actually been looking at getting some of these. I've only heard positive things about them. Where did you get yours? I'm looking at Amazon but they seem very expensive. Are they $38/grip or $38/set?

It's 38 for a set, so it's not exactly a cheap investment. But they definitely add a new element to what you have going on.

If I can get two for $38 then I think I will probably try them out. I was thinking it would be ~$80 to get them so that's what put me off.

Did you notice that you had to drop your weight significantly when using them? I've heard that these tire your forearms out so much that it's almost impossible to continue putting up the same weight your were before using the grips.

I haven't really done any heavy weight focused stuff with them. On Asylum Strength and P.A.P Upper I was about to increase my weight by 5 pounds, but these were definitely more than enough to bring the burn back in. So I'm not sure if I would say a significant reduction, but definitely a noticeable change in what you can do. So if you're current weight is struggling you'd probably have to drop a bit, but if you're about to increase your weight load, these will get the job done.

I also have fairly large hands, if you had smaller hands I could see these impacting your weight load in a much more drastic manner.

However, they do make doing pullups almost impossible (at least for me being 6'5 and 203 pounds). I don't use them on my pullup bar, because I have a hard enough time with pullups as it is.
