which program in specific are you using the weights for?
A good tip for weights is to not be afraid of them. A LOT of women are afraid of getting bulky and go light weight high reps. But to get good muscle definition, I recommend going heavier weight, lower rep, the 8-10 that a lot of programs suggest for muscle gain. Also, be prepared to see the scale go up as you put on muscle. You'll be getting mroe fit, and likely losing body fat, but that scale will lie to you and tell you terrible things. Ignore it and use progress pictures to see the real transformation.
