LADIES - what set of weights would you recommend for this program? I have never been a lifter, but am looking to get definition with this program.

I appreciate all input!

Hello Victoria,
which program in specific are you using the weights for?

A good tip for weights is to not be afraid of them. A LOT of women are afraid of getting bulky and go light weight high reps. But to get good muscle definition, I recommend going heavier weight, lower rep, the 8-10 that a lot of programs suggest for muscle gain. Also, be prepared to see the scale go up as you put on muscle. You'll be getting mroe fit, and likely losing body fat, but that scale will lie to you and tell you terrible things. Ignore it and use progress pictures to see the real transformation.

I have only been doing the program for about a week but I have been using 5lbs for the warm up and cardio days. And on the Circut days I am using 8 lbs, 10 lbs, 15 lbs and 20 lbs, depending on the exercise. 20 lbs for the lower body workouts like squats. Chalene usually tells you what she is using for weight and I try to go about 5 lbs lighter than her... give or take.
Purchasing weights is a big investment and expensive! I already had 4, 5, 8 and 20 so I only ended up having to get the 15 and 10 lbs since starting this program. You may have to use bands for awhile. I had to do that on some exercises.
It seems that the first week are two are just trying different weights and experimenting
Good luck and I hope that helps.

I saw that Target has adjustable weights, I would get the one that is up to 20 lbs until you get stronger emoticon Thank way you have all that you would need and less weights laying around emoticon
