Hey Everyone,

I'm currently doing Insanity (next week is my last week...yes!) and I'm getting The Asylum for Christmas. I'm really excited (and nervous) to do it, as it seems to ramp up the intensity ten fold. I've been an athlete my whole life so I feel that I'll enjoy the sports aspect of it...or that's what I tell myself. : ) My question is how long I should wait before starting The Asylum. I've been planning on a week in order to give my body a rest, but I also don't want to wait too long and lose the aerobic condition I have worked so hard to achieve. Any suggestions would be great, thanks!!!

Most suggestions I've seen say take a week or two of recovery time. I normally give myself a week between programs and will focus more on the stretching routines for that one week.

Hi Vsub:

I just finished Asylum 1 this morning after two rounds of Insanity. I liked Asylum. The challenge was different than Insanity and it didn't seem as hard as Insanity (except for Game Day and Overtime) but I did see improvement in the fit test so something was working. I suggest a week of a combination of rest days, the recovery video from Insanity and the relief video from Asylum. This will give you stretching and flexibility and still maintain conditioning.

Suggest something like this to give a combination of rest, stretching, and some cardio conditioning during your off week.

Day 1-Rest
Day 2-Relief vidoeo from Asylum
Day 3-Rest
Day 4-Core Cardio and Balance from Insanity
Day 5-Rest
Day 6-Relief vidoeo from Asylum
Day 7-Rest

If you feel like you want some more cardio conditioning during that week maybe work a little on the jump rope. I really need improvement in that area. The videos with Asylum have some speed rope drills to help you with practice.

Hope you enjoy the new workout

Mark
