Started Insanity on Dec 17th
Started Insanity on Dec 17th
12/19/12 7:34 PM
I started insanity for the first time this week. I am 5' 10" and usually weigh in at 179-183 in the morning, I weighed in after my work out today at 190. I am sure this is due to the heavy consumption of water etc. I am usually active in golf, soccer, and running during the summer. Right now its winter and usually I find myself back at the gym once golf season is over, but due to work and other activities, as well as, how busy the gym usually is I decided to take on insanity. Right now I currently play indoor soccer on friday nights and hope to finish insanity. Even though the workouts are hard I push myself, but I noticed I need to break sometime during the routines. Also, my lower back seems to tighten up during the work outs which I guess is a sign of some core muscles un-used in a while (the main reason I need to break). I like the work outs so far, and hope I will be able to eventually only have to take the required breaks.

That's awesome that you're taking on Insanity! It's a great program and will really help your endurance. Right away most people need to take extra, short breaks, so don't worry about that. Even the people in the videos do if you watch closely emoticon As far as the back pain goes, just make sure you're paying close attention to your form on the moves, especially when you're squatting or in a plank position.

Thanks Tom, as far as back pain and form, I am sure my form is pretty good for the most part and the back pain isn't really pain it is tightness. I am just wondering if that may be normal as the lower back is part of the core?

Thank you,

Cameron

I started doing my insanity on the 18 and was unable to do it on the 19 because I was so incredibly sore in my legs but did it again tonight. I can already tell if I can stick with this the results are going to be amazing but wow some of these exercises are all I can do to complete right now. I'm sure as I strengthen up muscles it will all come much easier but finding the motivation to keep pushing on. Good luck in your adventure with insanity and hope you can succeed. emoticon

Cameron, your back pain should get better if you have the right form and strengthen your back the pain should go away.

rodeo, great job in sticking with the program even though you are sore. Try the results and recovery drink, it will really help you recover faster and heal those sore muscles.
