Hi.

Clearly, I am new to BB. I'm Emily. HI!

Tale as old as time; I've struggled with weight loss an maintenance all of my life, especially nutrition. I have a few medical conditions which, in the past, have impeded my ability to keep weight off. Actually, my doctors pretty much told me to get used to being chubby.

I want to prove them wrong.

But, I am overwhelmed on where to start as far as good nutrition goes. As such, it sabotages my ability to be motivated; i.e., I have one bad eating day, and I figure, what's the point of working out? I'm never going to understand how to eat well enough to keep the weight off.

I'm sure many of you have been here before. My husband travels ALOT, which means I get even lazier when it comes to cooking. Alot of nutrition sites are complicated for me. Alot of measuring, counting, thinking. I need easy, quick, gluten-free solutions to nutrition so that I can really feel like I am on the right path to meeting my fitness goals.

What are your strategies for eating well on bad days? What are your strategies for over coming overwhelming really big food cravings?

Also, anyone doing this program while living with a spouse/partner who is still eating poorly and not as committed to loosing weight? The main reason I am on this journey is to inspire my husband to finally start taking his weight seriously instead of yo-yoing on HCG crash diets only to gain back all the weight....

Any and all help is appreciated. Thank you so much in advance.

emoticon Emily.

Hi Emily! I'd love to help you! I struggled with my eating too. Don't get discouraged if you have a bad eating day, let it go and make the next a better one! I use MyFitnessPal, it's an app for your phone to count calories and it makes it really easy and accurate, you can even scan bar codes and it knows what you are eating. When I workout, it motivates me to eat healthy and vice versa. I think you just need a new perspective... Tell me, do you have a Beachbody Coach? If not I'd love to be there for you every step of the way.

Hey Patasi!

(And thanks for the friend request). I do have a coach- I received a great outpouring of support in my inbox due to this post..but thanks for asking. My husband, pboler, also joined and he has the same problems I do...even more so because he travels so much. He really needs a coach.......... ;)

It's hard not to get discouraged. It's hard not to beat yourself up because you gave into a primal weaknesses.

I'm a crash diet addict. HCG anyone? I'm used to quick results.....and then gaining back all the weight because it left me without any idea how to actually eat properly. But, I can starve myself like a champ.....

I get frustrated by the apps only because I cook alot of our meals at home (I have Celiacs and it's easier). I don't like having to add in every ingredient one by one....etc... I guess I've just gotta do it and stop whining.... ;)

Thanks for your reply. I really appreciate you taking the time.
