Come one, come all! Make 2013 YOUR lucky year by being in the best shape of your life.

Doesn't matter what program you are going to be doing, together we can keep each other motivated! I'm going to be trying the P90x/Insanity hybrid program. Loved the muscle building of P90x but lost 10% body fat with Insanity. Hopefully together the results will be amazing.

So come on and join me on this fitness journey! Who's in?

I will be starting P90x on the 7th as well. I will need some help staying motivated, especially when I hit that t dreaded plateau. I'm looking forward to starting the change.

I would like to join this group for the 7th as well. I prefer a smaller more intimate group as opposed to a giant New Years Day thread where you can get lost in the shuffle.

I actually was up to day 62 for p90x before the dreaded holiday curse kicked in a few weeks ago. I went from kicking butt to sloth mode and pretty much destroyed all the hard work I put in for two months.

I am a big guy at the wrong side of 200lbs so the nutrition aspect is where I really need some extra focus to maximize results.

Going to spend the next six days with some cardio and stretching to prepare for p90x Day 1. Hopefully joining a group this time will help me push past the plateau.

I am in for the 7th. I am doing p90x for the first time. I have done other workout programs before, and have completed successfully but I struggle with nutrition so I don't get the results I want.
I am bit nervous about the intensity of p90x but I am up for it. I have never joined a group before and I don't know many people who workout or eat healthy so I am really looking forward to this.

Hello everyone!
Glad to hear you are joining in. Together we can achieve results and keep each other motivated for the days we don't feel like working out. emoticon

A little about me(I know...like we care...but just humor me):

I'm a beachbody coach who first found P90x in 2007 right after I got my Masters degree. While studying, my motivation to go to the gym became less and less. When I finished my program I was at my heaviest ever. Something needed to change. Like everyone else, I watched the infomercial a zillion times before ordering it. It was a TOUGH 90 days but I got better results in three months than 3 years at the gym. Fast forward, 4 programs later (p90x+, x2, Insanity, Asylum) and I often find myself returning to the original that got me started.

Feel free to add in a little about yourself so we get to know you. Now for some rules -

Ground rules for the group:
1. NO QUITTING! We all have days/weeks where life gets in the way. So what! Pick it up the next day/week and keep going. Don't get discouraged because you missed a workout. This is a marathon not a sprint. Keep at it and you WILL see results.

2. Post everyday or every other day. You will be amazed at how it keeps you on track! It can be a question about the workout, how you felt that day, questions about nutrition etc.

3. Abs are made in the kitchen. Like many, I too have struggled with the nutrition plan. Allow a cheat meal or two, just try not to go crazy. Also try using "my fitness pal" to help count calories. The P90X nutrition guide tells you how much you should eat. My fitness pal will show you if you're on track. Too few calories are just as bad as too many. It will affect your results.

4. Be sure to take before photos as well as 30 day, 60 and 90 day photos. If you have good results, email them to Beachbody to be eligible for the monthly prizes. You could win money just for working out!

Finally, have fun! We have a whole year to look fantastic. Just keep pushing play!

Hey everyone,
I'm starting tomorrow, I just found out I have an event Monday and won't be home after work. But come Tuesday I'll be in synch with everyone.

Also in my last group people were asking if I take any supplements or other things. Since a few here are doing P90x for the first time I thought I would list what I'm using:

Before my workout I use the energy and endurance pre workout drink. I really like it because it's not gritty like other ones I have tried and it doesn't jack up your heart rate like red bull.

After my workout I take the results and recovery formula. Again, not gritty and it helps curb my hunger while I make dinner. You may find that you are starving right after you finish and it's really easy to want the first thing that pops into your head, whether it is healthy or not. This curbs your hunger and also provides the needed nutrients to recover from the workout.

Shakeology is my meal of choice for breakfast. Loaded with all natural healthy ingredients and really, what's better than chocolate and peanut butter for breakfast???? emoticon It has cut my craving for sweets down dramatically and helps me get out of the house quick. Some have Shakeology before a workout instead which is fine, just allow enough time to digest it before your program.

Lastly, I occasionally take glucose for my knees. They get a little stiff every now and again.

So if you want to try a sample of any of the things I've mentioned, your coach should be able to get them for you. If you have never heard from your coach or he or she cannot get a sample, let me know and I can help you out.

Excited about the next 90 days!

Mike

Ooof. Finished chest and back. Forgot how tough it is but quickly remembered as I'm grunting through the pullups. emoticon Also took my day 1 photo for when I get good results.

Hello everyone! Great to meet everyone and glad we are in this together. I have completed P90X lean this past year and restarted it today! However, my core synergistics CD bit the big one right before the cool down. I tried three different DVD players, and the CD is shot. I hope I can get a replacement?

Anyway, I am disappointed the CD crapped the bed, but at least I got in a good 50 minutes! Woo hoo!

Hello Group, Day 1 is in the books. I took all the preworkout measurements and pics and hit Chest and Back with everything I had. My round one numbers were good with a little dropoff in round two. I normally use bands for all the pullups but broke my last band a month ago so have resorted to doing negatives.

The Abs workout is tough as always but at least short. Hopefully we get some good participation in this group. Looking forward to progressing with everyone.

Ben

P.S. Not much free time today but will do a little write-up of myself after tomorrows Plyo (ugh) workout.

Hi everyone,

Can I join y'all?
I started my 3rd round today. It's been about 2 months since I completed round 2 & chest & back was tough! I even had to resort to some sissy heart-2-heart push ups. Ugh.
This round I'm doing a running hybrid. I'm a burned out marathoner - just trying to get back to 10k distances & not hate it ;).

I look forward to getting to know everyone,

Nancy

Welcome Nancy, of course you can join. I used to enjoy the occasional marathon back in my early twenties...those were the days.

I still enjoy the occasional run but am going to try and stick with p90X until I complete a full round. I have tried this program dozens of times and dropped out at various points for various reasons. Look forward to following everyone's progress.

I just received my P90X today and completed my first day workout. I have never done it before and I had a lot of trouble with military and diamond push ups and the dive bomber push ups. I can't wait until I can do these! New to message board and have a lot of reading to do tomorrow to learn about p90x. Wanted to start with this group today emoticon I am excited!

Nice Job Tory!

I struggle with those as well, especially in the second round. I usually have to resort to the modified dive bombers because I am spent by the end of the workout.

Getting ready to start what I consider to be the most difficult workout in the serious, PlyoX. Getting my little bucket ready....

Day 2 PlyoX is in the books! I never came so close to needing that "little bucket".

Some quick thoughts on Plyo. I have probably started p90x more then 20 times since I purchased this program 4 years ago and Plyo has always been a struggle. I found that I would improve after the first few weeks and then plateau. My goal was to always try and keep up with Tony and finish the workout. This time through with Plyo, and every other workout for that matter, I am going to focus on my form and go as hard as I can at my speed. I took it easy on the intensity in the first set of squats and really focus on my technique. I probably did 70%-80% of the moves that tony and co. completed. I kept this up for each round of exercises. By the end I was completely spent, never had I had such an intense plyo workout.

Time for my post workout meal, maybe some turkey and carrots. Later today I will follow Mike's suggestion and write a little summary about myself and my goals. Keep Pushing Play everyone!

Greetings everyone....

I would love to join the group for motivation and for help in reaching health goals as well..

A little something about myself.

I was a BNN Coach up to about 8 months ago. Ive always struggled with my weight problems until i found P90X, i tried and failed so many other plans but P90X really got me going... i even managed to drop about 50 lbs of pure fat in about 1 1/2 years of the program.. then about 7 months ago i suffered a crazy head accident.

While performing a standard dive in a pool, i over shot and landed head first in a spike possition on the bottom of the pool, leaving me paralized for what seemed like an eternity... and honestly Gods love was the only thing that saved me cause i swear to you that under my own power i managed to get out of the pool once i recovered. But i suffered stiff neck, and problems concentrating and lost all desire and motivation to continue... picking up a 15 lbs weight caused me to pass out momentary.

Physically i was ok, all the test came back possitive, no broken bones or signs of damage, but of course nerve damage cant be detected so easily.

Anyway, in the course of the 7 months after the accident i slowly got my strenght back and slowly started to feel good from my neck and head. But unfortunately the lack of workouts was so much that i started to gain weight all over again.

But im healed up now.. ive slowly done a few days of P90, P90X and other things to get the body going again... i have 4 months till i get married.. and honestly i dont think i can reach my goal like i originally wanted.. but im sure i can still make a huge impact and drop a good amount of weight and get some strenght going again...

Im able to do my workouts with as much strenght as i can for the time, having to modify most of the workouts but im not going to stop now...

I started up again 12/31/12, and if i can hit the full 90 days with no problems, then i can complete a round of P90X before the wedding and started another round as well finishing up Phase I of my second run of the program this year....

No more time to think about the accident.. it's time to work hard and get going...
