only 22 pounds?!
only 22 pounds?!

I am at a hotel in peru with a weight rack that goes up to only 10kg=22 pounds. Needless to say this isn't useful for ANY of the bulk or build workouts i brought with me, and even useless for p90x stuff too i'm pretty sure.
Yesterday i was at a different place and did 90x Shoulders and Arms. Today I settled for Ab Ripper X.
But tomorrow i'd like to get in an actual workout if possible. I'm not eating nearly 3000 cals a day (more like 2000 maybe), but I want to still tear some fiber, if you know what i mean. Make the most of my time. do i double my reps on each set

Why not just do the reps twice as slow? Think Tempo sets here. 22 lbs should be enough to destroy your triceps on single arm kickbacks and biceps if you tempo them. You could also blast your back with tempo reverse flys and those weights should be plenty enough for Shoulder Workouts (1,2,3 front raise, Sagi 6 Way, side lateral raise, and you could tempo chest flys on various inclines of an adjustable bench.

I think those 22 lbs dumbbells would be fine for Core Synergistics (doing Squat X Press with 15 lb dumbbells used to wear me out)...also you could use those for the Lunge and Reach, and the Lunge, Tricep Kickback, Shoulder Press sets as well. Chest Shoulders and Triceps would be a great workout for those weights...just try the weighted arm circles with those 22 lb weights and tell me how you feel. emoticon

All I'm saying is that there is a lot you CAN do with 22 lbs dumbbells if you think about it. Core Synergistic was one of my favorite P90x workouts....so yeah...I'm a bit biased.

Sounds like you are on an awesome trip, but just know that you have plenty of weight to tear those muscle fibers.

doing a tempo chest will really slow things down wont it? We dont have the time when waking up at 6:45 and have to be at breakfast at 8 to do a tempo. I'll try core synergistics then.
Thanks Robert.
And about Macros--as i said on another thread im not able to be getting the cals i want to. Do i still need to stick to macros? I got the whey protein isolate with me from GNC, i do 3 scoops a day with a cliff Builders bar to get at least 110ish plus added trout to get it up to 140ish or more. what kind of cals am i aiming for? what macros?
And just weighed myself, btw. I have lost a pound since beast began. OMG.

The tempo workout is as long as the others, you just move the weights slower.

Seems like if you had proper form 22 pounds should be plenty for most of the moves, sans chest I suppose. But even then, the flys would probably still be plenty, and you can do pushups.

Maybe I'm a wimp, but I rarely use more than 20 pounds on my workouts haha. But I have been doing X2 with all the stability stuff and haven't started Beast yet, so I could be wrong.
