Want to try Beast, but worried about Cardio
I have my next 6 months mapped out basically for what I want to do, but after that I've had a growing curiosity with wanting to give body beast a go.

My main programs are X2 and Asylum 1 & 2. I've never stopped doing Asylum workouts completely, I always hybrid them with whatever else I'm doing. The body beast schedule doesn't seem overly cooperative in that regard, and I don't want to mess with trying to do doubles of some sort.

So my worry is, that going through Beast I'll lose this tremendous cardio base I've been building up through Insanity and Asylum. And when I go back to them after Beast it will be terrible, haha.

I'd also like to continue doing Yoga as well.

Any thoughts?

When I did beast I didn't do any cardio at all. I used the cardio days for rest instead.
After words my cardio was just as good if not better.
I'm lucky to do 2-3 cardio sessions a month and my cardio hasn't dropped off at all, in fact I feel I get a better "cardio" workout from heavy squatting or dead-lifting then anything else.

It's time for a goal check. If you want strength & size, bag the cardio. If you want to look like a marathoner, cardio away.

Well my goal is strength and a little bit of size I suppose. I wouldn't want to be much bigger except in my chest perhaps. Looking at some of the beast stuff, pretty much everyone in those videos is bigger than I'd want to be.

And I sort of get the cardio ideas. It certainly can come and go pretty quick, but there's tons of strength work in the Asylum series too, and I like that combo? I don't know, I've always had the best results doing the Insanity series as far as visual results are concerned, so I guess that's why I'm hesitant to just drop it off. And I like Shaun T haha.

when i finished insanity, my cardio endurance was through the roof; so much so that when i started p90x and did the plyo workout, i barely broke a sweat because the intensity was much lighter.

your cardio fitness won't go back to when you first started and although it may change a little, you'll be able to keep up. you can also inject some insanity into the program once in a while. when i was doing p90x, i would sub insanity cardio instead of say, kenpo or plyo x just to give my workouts a little more "oomph". i still sub in asylum or insanity into my workouts just to change things up and while it's still an effort for me, it doesn't kill me like how it used to when i first started.
