What Do I Need?
What Do I Need?

Hello!

I am a 2 time Insanity graduate looking for a change of pace that will help me to maintain the body I've created over the past 4 months. I'm thinking about Chalean Extreme, but want to make sure that I have all the equipment/can afford what I still need.

I currently have free weights: 2 lbs, 3 lbs, 5 lbs, and 8 lbs. Is this a good place to start or would I need to purchase heavier weights? I am fairly new to weight training. I've done a little in the past but it's usually very light.

Thanks!!

Hi Marybeth...I went to Chalene after Insanity and it was a great way to build muscle tone I just didn't get from Insanity. I have done several BB workouts and I must say, Chalene Extreme is my favorite. You'll be surprised how heavy you can lift, I use 30 pounds on some lower body moves. Of course, start with what you have, but if your budget allows, I would highly suggest more weights. You can also use resistance bands. Many people do, they are much cheaper and I have heard they offer a good amount of resistance. One of the girls in every workout uses bands so you could follow with that. Good luck!

Hi! CE rocks! Yes you will need likely heavier weights. Resistance bands are great too. They are cheap and bb ones are really well made. Can get 3 for around $30.

When do you plan to start?

I would love for you to join us at our support & motivation thread! Great group!
