Breastfeeding and Insanity workouts
I have a six month old son and am breastfeeding. Been working out since he was 2 months old. In Nov. I started Insanity. I'm on month 2 week 6 of the Insanity workout schedule. I have been able to do each and every workout following the calendar schedule. I have seen improvements in my physical health and am just now starting to see a little more muscle tone. I have been losing inches but barely any pounds. Struggling with an overly instense appetite but montioring what goes in my mouth. I am eating low/good carbs and no junk food/sugar. Drinking 90ish oz of water a day. I was wondering if anyone else has done a high intensity workout program while nursing and struggled with losing weight. As wondering if anyone had any advice about calorie intake with breastfeeding while working out... getting discouraged with results but I feel like I'm working really hard.

Congrats on your new addition! emoticon I would be careful of eating too little. You need to eat enough for both nursing & Insanity. Eating too little can affect results. If you are losing inches you are definitely seeing since results. Inches matter more than pounds. Inches also typically come first before pounds. What day are you on? Most people are the best results in month 2. I did!

I would love for you to join us at our support & motivation thread! Great group!

Thank you for the response and invite. I am on day 44 of Insanity. I have been self motivating and accountable to me, myself, and I. It has been something I am really happy and proud of myself for doing so far. I am really hard on myself and struggling mentally with my results so far. I feel like every time I make progress with the dreaded numbers on the scale its like my body reacts and I gain the "weight" right back constantly going from 165 right back to 170. I feel like I am eating well, clean foods, and drinking lots of water too. I love my son and he has been the greatest, happiest baby going along with Mommy's working out and long walks.

I finished Insanity (while breast feeding) and I lost 15 pounds, 5 inches off of my hips, 8 inches off my waist. I would suggest doing some weight training. I lifted weights during my 60 days and I believe that helped me because the first time I did Insanity I did not have very good results. Don't get discouraged!! Have you taken your measurements? Sometimes the scale doesn't budge, but we are getting results. Please message me if you have any questions!! emoticon

Thanks for the response. I haven't taken my measurements but I have gone from a tight size 12 to a size 8ish...My goal is to be a small, toned size 6. I was 150 before pregnancy and now I am 170...After I gave birth my new weight was 174. I haven't lost much in the lbs department but definitely lost inches. I am planning on starting the program over again. I think this first round has really helped get me physically in better cardio health. I'm thinking the second time through I should see more actual weight loss. Thank you for the words of encouragements. Not easy but worth every minute.

Yeah definitely stick with another round. You may want to switch it up a little because your body will get used to the workout and you will plateau. Some people like to switch to p90x. I think you are doing great so far!!! I agree, not easy but def worth it!!! emoticon Keep up the good work!!
