Some background, I'm in a fitness boot camp, plyro and TRX, sled pushes and Kettlbells and bosu and rowers, good workouts lost 30lbs so far. I'm trying to get into a job retraining program, if I get in, I have to put class on hold or cancel it outright.

I have P90X/X2/Insanity/Asylum 1 and 2...Yet I have done finished none to completion, trainer said doing class and Beachbody would just be too much.

Even though I have completed none of these, done some of the workouts but never finished a cycle, I feel that I am in a good position to do a hybrid, Tough Mudder this summer..made a goal to be really fit by summer.

I was thinking X2/Insanity/Asylum 1 and 2 mixed in maybe? I know it'll be brutal but I feel I can handle it.

Could people post their suggestions as to a schedule? I've seen hyrbid threads but it's Insanity and P90X or something, not quite what I'm looking for. Since I'm on a time crunch..I want the most effective stuff...

As a fitness professional running several boot camp locations, I can tell you that your trainer is correct. You don't want to over train ,as high-intensity training is taxing in the nueromuscular system and over training will cause injury. I would do the high-intensity on m,w,f and then t,th, sat do resistance only....You should be ok here.

I appreciate the reply but it still leaves me with some questions

Odds are high the class will need to be put on hold for a sustained period if not ended outright due to a potential time conflict.

Fitness 19 won't get the job done, I tend to walk in, half ass it and leave

I'm uncertain as to what programs I should be doing

Someone on a BB support group on Facebook said do X2 with Asylum workouts replacing the cardio workouts of X2

Do I do one in the morning and one at night, both in the evening?

Should I mix Asylum 1 cardio and Asylum 2 cardio into it?

Again, I would do X2 every other (M,W,F) day and Asylum for Cardio every other day (T,TH,SA). If you do both everyday I can almost guarantee you will get an injury somewhere....

I did my first tough mudder simply on Insanity. I made it, but it was tough. I did a hybrid of P90X and Insanity the second time around and I finished with more ease. The key word here, though, is hybrid. I wouldn't double up each day, but instead, mix and match the workouts throughout the week and it will help you with the Mudder--no doubt in my mind.

Have you done the Mudder before?? Best of luck

I'm gonna start getting the stuff I need, do it soon, As for mudder, first time, first time it's been in my state of IL. Downstate Indiana was a bit too far. This will be an hour drive at most
