Question about the supplements in Body Beast
Hey! I finally signed up after a few months nosing around here and I'm glad I did. I have about 2 weeks left on P90x and I wanted to try Body Beast afterwards. Although I'm happy with my results from P90x, I want to add on more muscle.

I've purchased the Beachbody Base Shake, Fuel Shot, M.A.X. Creatine, and Super Suma; and wanted to know when do I take these supplements? Is it preworkout, post workout, before I sleep, etc. I'm honestly surprised how many different supplements there are for this workout. Please let me know what's the best way and what do you guys usually do when it comes to Body Beast workout and the supplements. Thanks!

The Book of Beast answers addresses your questions, but the Book of Beast has errors that I hope are now corrected. Here's the rundown

Super Suma: I like to take it 1 hour before working out.

Hardcore Base Shake: Goes in your post workout Beast Shake

Fuel Shot: Goes in your post workout Beast Shake (1 scoop, not 2)

Creatine: 10 grams in your post workout Beast Shake per the Book of Beast, though there are many different opinions on how to take creatine and when to take...I did something different.

I also took a pre-workout supplement 20 minutes before working out. My thoughts on the Beast Shake are to keep a 4 to 1 ratio of carbs to protein, so 80 carbs to 20 grams of protein would be great. There are recipes for Beast Shakes in the Book of Beast but it incorrectly lists 2 scoops of Fuel Shot instead of 1.

To put on the muscle mass you are going to have to eat a lot, so definitely spend some time working on your diet ahead of time.

I can't find anywhere in the BB Book what the numbers mean under the "portion" heading on the nutrition charts for calories. It lists the type of foods for specific calorie ranges (Pg 52 for example)and the numbers under the portion heading. Some numbers under the portion heading are as high as 14. Can't believe I would be eating 14 times in a day so I don't know what those numbers mean.

Can anybody help me with that?

Thanks

Focus on the calorie targets and hitting your macros for the day. Use the portions as a guideline to make sure you are eating balanced. When you get to Bulk Phase, you may find yourself needing more calories than what is recommended to keep gaining. I and others have ended up eating 300 to 500 more calories than what is recommended.
