Hi all, I am preparing for the Body Beast program and am putting all my "ducks in a row" if you will. The meal planning does seem to be the least user friendly aspect of the program, however definitely not deterring me though. I am looking at preparing portions ahead of time to freeze,to try and stay on track. haven't set a start date yet but will soon.
Is Shakeology helpful to keep up with protein amounts?
David U.
Hi David,
I think Shakeology does help a bit with the protein--it's got 16-17 g of protein per scoop. However, getting protein without the carbs can be difficult, so aside from meats, I also supplement with whey protein (I use Iso-sensation 93 from Ultimate Nutrition).
If you can afford the supplements, definitely use Beachbody's base shake and fuel shot and suma. The nice thing is that they make a good post-workout drink and provide a decent amount of calories as well (which means less work finding those calories). Trust me, you'll be eating a lot. I'm assuming you're hoping to gain weight?
Yes, the meal planning will be the hardest but probably the most crucial part to be successful, in my opinion. Good luck with the program...I'm doing it right now and totally enjoying it. I kind of ignore the book and do my own thing as far as meals, but it seems to work. I've already gained 8 lbs after 6 weeks.
