when do you start seeing results

I am on the first week of second month and I don't see any results thus far. I am improving on my fit test results substantially, I never miss a workout, I am busting my ass the entire workout, I watch what I am eating and all for what 4 lbs. and maybe and inch off my waste. Its hard stay motivated with such terrible results. thanks for nothing insanity

I'd say that substantial improvement on the fit test is a great result. It can suck to not see it in inches or pounds but fitness is more important. The rest will come.

it'll also depend a lot on your starting point.

I guess I just find it hard to stay motivated at times and get down and depressed when I don't see the results.

I started seeing results after about the first month. My cardiovascular endurance level went up dramatically since day 1. I've not seen as much in terms of actual weight on the scale. I think I've only dropped like 3 pounds, and I"m in the middle of month 2 now. But I"ve seen inches go away in my belly. I'm comfortably two belt hole sizes down, and all my friends have commented that I"ve lost weight. The fact that the scale has not moved, I can only assume means that I"ve been replacing the lost fat with muscle. I am today able to do 50 consecutive push ups, where as before the program I could barely eek out 10.

yeah very true, I have to put away the scale that is my biggest problem, I know my fitness level is up considerably. I just went for a run around the block and sprinted the whole way with energy in reserve. plus the fit test I doubled my week one results. plus I can feel it in my sides even if I am not seeing much yet.

Thanks for the motivation to keep going

Great job sticking with Insanity so far! I know it's tough to stay motivated without always seeing results, but trust me when I say KEEP GOING! Month 2 as you can tell is a whole new monster in it's own way! If you don't mind me asking can you tell us a little more about your nutrition? Nutrition is a very vital key, without the right nutrition and calorie intake you won't see the same dramatic results as you would if you did watch it. So can you shed some more light upon it if you don't mind?

Thanks for posting your concerns. This is all part of the journey to obtaining the best body you can possibly have. I have a motivational and support group on this site for people starting Insanity on January 7. Even though you already started, we have begun supporting each other and exchanging ideas. There are several people in the thread, including myself, who have done Insanity before, so there's a lot of knowledge.

As far as the weight loss and body transformation, what does your nutrition plan look like? That is what I found to be the key to losing the weight...it goes HAND IN HAND with the workout program. You lose weight with your nutrition and you tone up with your exercise program.

I want to add shakeology in my diet but I am not spending 125$ a month. I want to get in shape not go completely broke in the process, when money is tight.

Calorie intake is roughly 1700 calories a day, I have cut out drinking pop since that was a major weakness of mine. I usually don't eat breakfast, have a small lunch and dinner.

Truth??? 4 pounds is more than I lost the first round on Insanity. But my body is all of a sudden changing. I am dropping sizes and seeing myself generally shape up. I do have weight to lose and I wish it would come off faster, but I think with women we seem to work from the inside out.
I see great progress (as you said you have) in my fit tests. I also can see progress in pictures (did you take a set??).
Definitely take your measurements. The great thing about this program is you see results in many different ways.
I have a friend on here who is also doing her second round of Insanity. She lost very little the first round, but now is melting away!!!! So hang in there and keep doing the right thing! You can't go wrong!!!!

Thanks For the encouragement and I plan on sticking with it. I will just buy another shake until money is not as tight, then switch to shakeology. I did take before and after photos and to be honest I don't see much change.

No this is not my first time, I attempted the insanity program back in june but had to stop because of my knees. I have bad knees and finally found the cause a month ago. The dr said exercise is the best thing for it, since i was worried about injuring them further. I have to exercise hard-core like this or else they deteriorate again. I did lose 7 lbs that first month back in june so maybe its because my starting point and fit level was already up a bit from the first time. my current weight is 205 lbs down from 212, height is 5 ft 11,


I guess I was just not motivated, a bit down and in a bad mood because I am slowly seeing results. My knees feel better then they have ever been in ages. and dropping 7 lbs in 6 weeks is good progress. plus my fitness level is way up.

Thanks everyone for the motivation sometimes that is all someone needs.

Legions. 1,700 calories is not enough. Remarkably that is working against you. Not sure how old you are but you should be closer to 2500 calories. I know this is counter intuitive but believe me it is the truth. Let me know your age and I will run the numbers per the nutrition guide that came in the Insanity box you got. If you eat five 500 calorie meals per day with the majority of carbs in the first three meals and a carb/protein/fat ratio of 40/40/20 and finish out the last four weeks of Insanity I promise you that you will see amazing results.

Right now your body is conserving itself because you are not feeding it enough for the level of caloric expenditure you are making.

They have this specifically designed to work when all is combined and done per the program. Trust the program and it will work. How do I know? I lost 80 lbs in 4 months following it and am now in amazing condition. I did it by trusting the program and kept pushing play.

You can do this. Don't give up!

I am 30 years old

2500 calories I don't know if i can eat that much per day.I feel like i am over eating when i go past 1800. I will have to train myself for that mentality then. I joined a website called everydayheath i will track my daily calorie intake and calories burned there.

I am trying to avoid going on the scale as much as possible since that can be a real Motivator. do you think 2200 calories a day is still too low. I have been making an effort to go over 2100.

How do you feel at 2100 so far Legions? Are you noticing a difference in energy levels? Honestly the best measurement of if you are in the correct calorie range is to stick with one for a week or 2, and if you notice differences it'll be good! I'm 5'10 and thats what I know works for me, though I do increase it if I'm going to be exercising harder than usual certain days (double days or something where I have an event)

way to stick with it. Your FIRST AND MOST IMPORTANT PROBLEM is that you SKIP BREAKFAST! Very, very bad. You should at least eat some lean protein and complex carbs. I know shakeology seems expensive, but this is the best way to start the day. If not, then I would recommend egg whites, etc. Check out the Insanity nutrition guide and follow it. Of all the beachbody programs, I find that the Insanity nutrition guide works the best for me.


Since I have been in pretty decent shape for a while, I actually notice results within a few days. It sounds kind of crazy, but I can really tell a difference. You also develop muscle without a doubt, especially in your quads and glutes. This weighs way more than fat so I would judge myself by my waist and measurements as well as my body fat percentage.

Hang in there. Insanity is so tough. Im feeling defeated after week 2 of my second round (I have been doing Body Beast for the past few months off and on.

Truthfully my energy levels don't feel much different yet though i will give it a week or two. I am 5 ft 11 so hopefully it was just a matter of low calorie intake.

Since i have been doing the 2100 calorie intake i have been trying to eat 3 square meals a day. before I started the program i had a bad habit of not eating breakfast a small lunch and dinner plus snacking, which i have almost cut out completely. when i do snack now its healthy like raspberries, kewie or pickles. until i can afford shkeology I went to GNC and bought a shake called GNC Mega men maximium nutrition.

Legions...like others have said you are definitely not doing badly and 4 lbs is nothing to balk about, this is about inches lost and not weight so definitely staying off the scale is a good plan. Bottom line though as has been mentioned is that this is all about nutrition. Like Mark mentioned, you must eat more. You lose more when you eat more otherwise your body is going into starvation mode. You are not eating enough. I can email you a spreadsheet if you want, specific for Insanity where you can plug in your weight, height, age, etc and it will tell you exactly how many calories you should intake a day and per meal. It is hard but you need to take in those calories. Keep popping those questions over.

yeah could you email me that if you don't mind That would really help. I have been doing good at going over 2000-2200 range the last several days. plus with the nutrition shake i bought which i will have for breakfast everyday will help as well.

I just want to say to everyone thanks for all the help and giving me motivation to continue. I am not used to everyone being so nice and helpful on a message board lol
