Will this diet suffice?
Will this diet suffice?

Hello BB members,

I began P90x many moons ago and found myself to have great success and lost weight but stopped after the fifth week. I became a creature of habit and returned back to my old self and regained 60% of what I lost in the first place.

It's time to start this routine back up again, finish it and then retain the lifestyle.

I am 5'11 and 90.5kg and my Goal is to have a great physique and posture and become fit to begin martial arts training sometime during the new year. In my mind I plan on doing p90x twice then starting martial arts which should help me excel at a faster rate.

My diet is as follows:

Breakfast - Oatmeal (hot water, no milk, some honey for sweetness)
Snack - Apple
Meal - 3oz chicken, 1/2 cup peas (x 3-4 per day)

I also like to use a good portion of mustard for some flavor, is this ok?

I drink coffee often, generally 3-4 cups a day, no sugar but I have milk . is this ok?

It's basic and easy to prepare as I do not want to waste a lot of time cooking meals.
I plan on keeping this diet for the first swing of p90x, then when I start the second adding in carbs.

Will this diet suffice? Is it lacking anything? Too much food? To liittle food? Not enough of the right food?

Thanks,
DavidinWA

David, congrats on your persistence to reach your goals!! That never give up mentality is just what you need!! As far as the food is concerned,.........knowing and understanding nutrition and incorporating it into you fitness routine is incredibly important if you want to rreach goals. What you wrote is a good start but you need to be consuming more calories than that. Have you figured what your daily caloric intake should be? Knowing this number is the key....if you have not figured it out, let me know and I can guide you through it! Mustard is a decent condiment so do not be too concerned there. Coffee is not terrible as long as its not loaded with creamer and sugar........personally I stick with 1 cup a day.

If you provide me with your age, I can dial in your calories and help you develop a decent nutrition plan! Feel fee to reach out to me as I am more than willing to help!!!
