Join us to make 2013 the best year ever for your health and fitness. This thread offers you motivation, support, a place to be accountable to yourself and others, and a place to ask questions.

ARE YOU READY TO COMMIT TO A BETTER YOU?

ARE YOU READY TO GET IN THE BEST SHAPE IN YOUR ENTIRE LIFE?

DO YOU WANNA HAVE FUN GETTING FIT?

IF YES, THEN IT IS TIME TO ENGAGE!!!

I challenge you to commit to succeed with us for the next 90/60 days. I will be doing a round of P90X and invite you to join in. Lookout Lisa will be doing a hybrid of P90X-X2/BBL/Insanity. We are here to help you with your journey and know that together we can all do this! Whether you are new to a program, restarting again, in your 2nd or 3rd round, it doesn’t matter, we are all here for the same reason: To get fit, be challenged and above all engage each other to succeed!

Two Coach System
CoachJDP (me) is the “by-the-book” hardcore program follower. My belief is you spent the money, you should get your money’s worth! We can motivate each other to do each workout, eat right, and post accountability.

Lisa is practical and reasonable. Not all of us are built to take on and complete a boot camp style program. She is great at mixing, matching, and modifying routines (trainers, discs, etc) to result in the perfect program. She can motivate us to do workouts that are perfect for us, eat right, and post accountability.

And we like to have fun. The more people that join in this thread the better it is, so bring yourself and invite your friends. There are going to be many ideas and helpful tips collected and posted and – it's going to be fun!!

IT'S AS SIMPLE AS G. N. A. - Goals, Nutrition, Accountability

Goals: Where are you now? Where do you want to be? Have Goals!

Nothing is more important or motivating than to see where you started and how you are progressing along the way. Make sure you document where you currently are. The following is super important. Just as important to success with the program as eating well and doing the routines.

• Take your Measurements
• Take your before & after pictures
• Take the fit test

It is not a requirement to share this information here (you are certainly welcome to) but it's ultra-motivating to track your progress and see the results!

(In future posts we will find out from each other how we set and track out goals)

Nutrition:
If you want to see great results, you have to focus on your nutrition as much as the workouts. Nutrition plays a key role in how you will reach your goals and attain the new and better you! Be prepared by getting a solid nutrition plan in place prior to starting. You can do this week to week or even plan out your entire month. It plays a key role in the success of this program. If you want to see great results you need to spend some time getting comfortable with your nutrition. Over time you will learn new eating habits that you can carry with you for the rest of your life. (Shakeology is a great way to meet all of your nutritional ways. As a meal or a snack it fuels your body with everything it needs in order to Dig Deep everyday.)

Track your progress and record everything. Learn how calories work for and against you. Our thread will discuss the role of heart rate monitors, calorie tracking apps, and the proper micro nutrients ratios to consume each day.

Accountability: Post your Accountability Daily. It is a great motivator day-to-day and week-to-week as you see yourself getting stronger and build up your stamina and endurance. This message board is your first stop for your accountability. Whatever your style – short 'n sweet or ...er... not (why am I looking at me?!?!) - tell us about it! Your forum buddies are going through exactly what you are and together we provide the tips, tricks, and encouragement to stay motivated. It's awesome!

This is a fun adventure. We look forward to getting to know you and seeing the new you. To start today simply click on the “Reply” button below, tell us who you are, and click “Save”.

Hi Coach,

Completed Chest and Back today, but just the first round. I'm starting easy and don't want to aggravate my back.

My main goals are to tone, loose an inch or two from hips and waist, and loose a few pounds or maintain; gaining muscle but loosing inches will probably maintain my current weight, which is good. I have learned that I can't overdo it in my workouts to keep the body from too much stress. So I plan to do this at about half speed, and hopefully pick it up as we go.

Happy New Year all!!
-Lisa

Aloha everyone! Started(or, restarted) P90X yesterday... Day one complete. Well, mostly complete anyway. I have a difficult time eating right over the weekend; I know I didn't eat enough yesterday or drink enough water, but I attempted the workout anyway. Made it through round one, but at about 2/3 through round 2 I started shaking and felt nauseous. So I missed the last couple of exercises and ab ripper. But I know what NOT to do, lol.
Looking forward to Plyo later today!

Just finished up Ab Ripper X for the day. Wasn't 339 worth but darn close. Not bad for being away from ARX for a while!

Off to New Years activities with the lovely Lookout Lisa and her family. Have a safe New Year celebration everyone!

IT WAS AWESOME!
That's the 2nd time I've done the Chest and Back. I played around w/ the discs when I first got them. I definitely gets a bit, I don't know if "easier" is the right word, but I felt improved. One thing I was curious about and Tony even mentions it, I feel nauseous after those. It doesn't last long, but what's going on there?

I love Tony... "Get ready, cause it's commin!" Plyo X is done! Didn't do the bonus round, maybe next time. According to my HR monitor, I burned 907 calories, 160 avg hr, 180 max hr. Probably spent too much time over zone, because iy says that I only had 15:30 in zone...

Happy New Year everyone! KPP

Hey man, I felt pretty nauseous too. I noticed Tony even mentions that in round 2, but doesn't say why. Some buddies recommended backing off on the proteins until after the workout. I screwed up and drank coffee, so won't do that twice. They do things like water and fruit or veggie juice and protein after the workout and say that helps. I'm going to try V8 and some vitamin chews I like for running next time and will post the results. Keep it going, man! Sounds like you're killing it!
Happy New Year!

This was helpful too:
Healthy Life "Crashing and Nausea"
I plan on hydration the night before (I work out in the morning), half a banana 10 minutes before the workout and keep a little apple juice next to my water during the workout to keep my blood sugar up. There is actually paragraph on page 9 of the nutrition guide called Bonking. I didn't know what this was and it should do a better job of discussing nausea like so many others have discussed on other boards on this site. It should really be titled "Feeling Nauseous?" Feeling sick and light headed is a really good reason to quit. It feels unsafe and a very good reason to pause until it passes. They recommend slightly increasing your carbs in your diet, so I wanna try that too.

Great info jmclemore, thanks for posting it. I have been lucky I guess as I never have experienced nausea in any of the Beachbody programs. This is my 4th thread and no one has brought it up either so thanks again. This definitely is something I need to keep in the old info bag!

Lisa and I just got done with Plyo X. It was a nice kind of different after 60 days of Insanity. Didn't burn quite as many calories as drstevic but 566 I’ll take!

drstevic – what kind of heart rate monitor are you using?

Like Coach said, we did Plyo this afternoon. I got a heart rate monitor for Christmas (thanks hon!) and it said I burned 309 calories. That sounds about right since I'm only 5'3", and didn't push it really hard. Looking forward to Shoulders and Arms tomorrow, haven't done that one in quite a while!

Happy New Year all!

Modified the Plyos a bit to keep an eye on a healing torn ligament in my rt ankle, but WOW! I'm soaked!!! Love it!!! My PT says I can start running again Thursday so I can add that to my cardio days. Can't wait to start again! Heading out now to walk my favorite route and get reacquainted. Happy New Year, guys!

CoachJDP - I have a Polar; don't remember for sure which model it is...

Yoga tomorrow... used to be my least favorite workout, until I noticed the improvement in my flexibility and balance.

Hi all. I don't have much time to post but thought I would try to join in on a thread some where to help stay accountable. I am on day 2 of a mix up of mostly P90x with a routine of Power 90 and jogging. I completed P90 last year and a month and a half of P90x (then got sick and never jumped back in). But in the mean time I have been running a couple miles a day instead. emoticon

I only have about 25 pounds left until I hit my first weight goal. Then I will focus on not only losing more weight, but just increasing the intensity of my workouts.

Hope everyone succeeds!
