Hi Everyone, I'm Julia. I'll be starting Insanity: The Asylum on Monday, Jan 7, 2013. I have tried the Asylum on two prior occasions, but have not finished. The first time, in August, I made it to about Day 20, and then fell off the wagon. Not sure exactly what went wrong, but I just didn't make it through. The second time was in November. I ended up getting a bladder infection, and after I recovered, it was straight into the holidays.

But I am fully recovered, the holidays are just about over, and I am ready to get back in the swing of a healthy and active lifestyle! I'm going to start drinking my Shakeology everyday starting tomorrow and I'll do my fit test this Sunday, Jan 6. If you have done, are doing, or plan to start Asylum, I want to hear from you. This is going to be a tough road, but I am determined to complete this 30 days!

Hi, I'm starting Asylum tomorrow as well. I just completes Insanity on 12/31/2012 and I'm always looking for a new fitness challenge and after completing the fit test today, this will definitely be a challenge.

Great, glad to be doing this with you, CoachYahanna! I did the Fit Test earlier today. Here are my results:

Agility Heisman - 8
In & Out Ab Progression - 22
Lateral Push-Ups - 14
Mt. Climber Switch Kicks - 53
Agility Shoulder Taps - 3
X Jumps - 27
Moving Push-Ups - 2
Agility Lateral Shuffle - 15.5
Agility Bear Crawl - 7

About the same as my starting Fit Test the last two times, with a couple that increased by one or two reps. I'm pleased with where I'm at, but looking forward to where I'll be in 30 days, because this time, I will finish! Can't wait.

Day 1 of Insanity: Asylum Vol 1 complete! Burned 485 calories. Woke up a bit later than anticipated, so I was a bit frazzled and couldn't decide if I should try to squeeze the workout in or if I should wait until this evening, but I decided to go ahead and push play to get my day started on the right foot. Hopefully tomorrow morning will go a bit more smoothly. ;) Have a great day!

Day 2/30 Insanity: Asylum Vol 1 - oh my shoulders and arms are going to burn later today! I used 8 lb weights instead of 5, which is what I used last time. It resulted in fewer reps, but I think b/c of that, I took it slower and made sure I had good form the entire way through. Love the thought of strengthening my upper-body.

Just saw this thread need some accountability for myself. Started on the seventh. Let's rock it. Did strength today kicked my butt. I've beenlazy for the past four months and gained 35 lbs time to dig deep and burn it off

Welcome Steven and Steve! Happy to have you on this thread! I could use the accountability myself, so I appreciate you both joining.

I had to push Back to Core back a day because I had a soccer game yesterday. So instead of a rest day tomorrow, I made my rest day Wednesday. Back to Core will be completed after work today, and then Vertical Plyo tomorrow morning!

Day 3/30 - Insanity: Asylum Vol 1 Back to Core completed! Those split squat lunges where you hold your arms steady and then pulse for a minute are killer! Took lots of breaks, but made it through. Burned 289 calories, too. Drank some results and recovery afterwards and had a good dinner, now I'm ready to attack the evening. Have a good one, everyone.

Forgot to post yesterday, but completed Day 4/30 Vertical Plyo. Boy, it really killed my quads. I woke up at 5:30 am this morning to do Day 6/30 Speed and Agility, but I was so sore and tight, I had to postpone. Almost didn't do it tonight, but I pushed through, and I feel much better having worked some of that lactic acid out of my legs.

Day 6/30 - Speed and Agility, burned 404 calories. Took it a bit easier b/c I was still sore, but it was still a good workout. I'm dripping with sweat, but feel good that I pushed play another day. Hope you all are doing the same! I'd love to hear how things are going!

Way to go, Steve! Asylum is definitely crazy. But I've now got three days of workouts in a row completed. Feeling pretty good. Day 7/30 was Strength. I am still taking it a bit easier, so I only burned 404 calories, but I'm really focusing on form and keeping my core tight during all the moves. Feels good!

Day 8/30 Back to Core is in the books. My lower back will be screaming tomorrow! Felt good to get it completed. I think I'm slowly starting to get myself back in to a routine. Just hoping I can stick with it through the weekend.

It's Day 3 Back to Core for me--relatively relaxing day in the Asylum world! I also did 5 sets of dips with weights, 5 sets of DB bench presses, and 5 sets of DB flies.

Julia, it looks like I'm five days behind you. We both got Vertical Plyo coming up tomorrow. Keep it up.

I had VP today, as well! It is a killer. I took it a bit easier today, because the first time I did it, I feel like I over worked my quads and was sore for days. Didn't want that to happen again, especially with Game Day on the schedule for Saturday. But I still burned 387 calories, paid attention to my form, and killed it. Very much looking forward to Relief tomorrow. It truly is a relief of a workout!

Pushed play this morning and feel great! Day 10/30 Insanity Asylum Vol 1 - Relief. I like that workout. Even though it's just stretching, it really pushes me and I love how it makes my muscles feel! Game Day is tomorrow. Looking forward to it.
