count me in!

Insanity is an awesome program! I would love to help you succeed in getting through one of the toughest programs that BB has to offer!

The fit test is a great indicator of progress. It helps to motivate you as you go through the program so be sure to record your results. As you get into the third and fourth days of week one, you will be super sore. Be sure to push play anyway and do the best you can! The results will be amazing.

You can do it!

I still have no idea how these things work. I just did my fit test and I am looking to do plyo tonight (Before the FSU game). I started going to the gym more and more towards the end of last year and now Im trying to kick it up a notch with a dose of insanity. And Im going on a cruise in april,so I need to keep motivated to lose the weight before then.

Happy new year everyone, and lets do this together!

Did the fit test which really let me know that I wasn't in the est shape. I pushed through and pushed through and maintained my form. I did take breaks emoticon to keep up, but overal I'm happy with my results and can't wait to see my end results.
# dig deeper and push through
Not sure really what to eat but I'm on the subway diet. I had one 6 inch ham sub with tons of vegetables. And only water to drink. For snack pretzels.
I even walk on the treadmill with an incline to help push my results further

ANY FOOD TIPS?

I use what is in the booklets as reference. Sometimes I will make exactly what is in there, and then sometimes I will make other meals with some of the ingredients that they suggest. I am concerned with the nutritional and caloric values of my food, but I don't count every single calorie. If I did, I would go nuts. I would suggest to concentrate on portion control.

Also, I have a NutriBullet (which is an oversized magic bullet) that I make alot of smoothies in, and that has definitely helped me consume more fruits and veggies as well as curb the hunger pangs. I like this better than a juicer because it is still retaining the fiber of the food which in turn fills me up more.

MAn, I feel embarrassed and a little miffed at the moment. I did the Insanity fit test and thought I did well, but then yesterday afternoon i did Plyo for the first time, and I freaking sprained my left calf. Albeit minor, I have been taken out of the game for a couple days. And now I have all the time in the world to work out and I cant do it!

UGH..

Moral of the story, even when they go right from the warm up to the work out, take a moment to stretch!

Ashley, this is my 3rd attempt @ Insanity; last time I got to 12 days, but quit. And I tell you that I can't complete an entire session.

I often will only do 1-2 of the sets. and in those 12 days before I was already seeing results - just after 12 days of doing half the workouts. So, do what you can and what you're capable of, b/c regardless of how much you can do it's better than nothing, and you're going to see results.

The warm-ups are ridiculous I think; I can't do the warm-ups all the way through, either. But I did notice they started to become easier the more I went on.

Treadmill is very effective for weight loss - but just make sure you don't overwork yourself, especially when being on a diet. Keep in mind the more you work out the hungrier you're going to get. So, if you work out harder don't deny yourself food if you get hungry - but at the same time try to stick to your eating schedule.

Monitor your weight each week to make sure you're losing, and if you're not losing, then you will need to get stricter on your diet, and eating schedule; the eating schedule can be just as important as to what you eat.

And when you weigh yourself, don't do it right after a workout. You'll be at a higher weight.

The Subway diet should be good - and you can look at the Insanity booklet, as well.

Drink a lot of water throughout the day, as well, b/c that helps keep your appetite down.

If you're not losing weight as much as you want, be sure not to go to drastic measures and deny yourself food, especially while working out. The key is just to alter your diet, and your eating schedule. Once you find what works for you then stick with it.

My first day off I am beyond relieved. My muscles are in pain, I felt muscles in my body I never thought I had. Working at McDonalds is proving to be a great challenge plus walking around the campus of university of Florida was difficult at first. But after this first week I have found that I can walk up the hill to my medical classes. This was the moment I really saw that I was gaining something from this program. It is very hard and very challenging but it gets the work done. To help increase weightless I walked on the tread mill. I have tons more energy with eating healthier and exercising. So far starting at 170 I'm down to 161. I eat roughly 900-1000 calories a day, can say I'm a bit hungry but the huge weight loss is just amazing. I am scared but ready for the next week challenge.

@ Ashley, your progress has been awesome!! Keep it up! Losing 9 pounds is amazing!

Just be sure you're getting enough food, and don't starve yourself if you're feeling hungry. The key is to eat the right foods - and generally if you eat the right foods in small portions every 3-4 hours is okay, and still effective in losing weight.

Glad you're able to walk the hills easier. You're doing great - just keep it up for the rest of the program!

You are doing way better than me; my schedule got out-of-wack last week, so I didn't do it as I wanted; but come Tuesday I am going to get back on it; and you are motivating me - I gotta try to keep up with you!! emoticon

Thanks - and keep up the good work!

Hey folks, I started a little earlier. Im on day 11 now and just finished Cardio recover. this is no recovery LOL! Its still pretty tough. Ive done P90x, Body Beast, Les Mills, etc. so if you have any questions please let me know. Ive been a coach here for a while. You all hang in there. Insanity is tough, but you just need to show up and do your best. I cannot always get through all of the routines, but I still keep showing up every day. and pick back up and try to make each workout better than the last.

Ashley, its okay to start with a calorie deficit, but youre going to need the good calories to get through the workouts as you progress.

If you are just starting out, I would focus broadly on staying away from alcohol, fast food and grains. Take a paleo approach, but you will need to eat lots of fruits and veggies to get those carbs to fuel your workouts.
