I started combat today and I love it! I think it is going to take a little getting used to so that I can maximize the calorie burn but I certainly sweat alot today despite being a bit clumsyemoticon

Who else started recently? I would love to become buddies and keep each other accountable!

Hah.. I feel your pain.. The first few times, I was awful. I have no natural rhythm and I've never done martial arts. In my challenge group, I coined the phrase "look like a donkey at a disco" and it described how we all felt we looked. Now, 17 days in and things are starting to smooth out.. It does take a bit of time with the timing and moves.. Especially transitioning between moves, but it will come..
Once you get into it, the calorie burn is amazing!! I love these workouts and am still astounded when I read the stats from my HRM.. If you are looking for Combat buddies, I can definitely be one.. I am loving this program!!

On Day 4 today. I tried a new approach this year and practiced kickstart a few times before starting the program. I am also using the louder music to keep eneergized. There aren't any style points for rhythm and after a few weeks you will be right in rhythm.

I'm 2.5 weeks into it and I absolutely love this program a lot. It took about a week to get down all the footwork and moves but since then its been nothing but smoothe sailing. I got Combat 60 again for the 2nd time this week and its my favorite so far. The only workout I haven't done yet is Combat Live 60 or Combat 30 live. I'm doing the ultimate warrior schedule and am up to using 25lbs for the clean and press and power press section from Power Hitt 1

Sounds like i need to watch the getting started video a few more times and practice some more. I am doing the HIIT workout today and I've heard this makes you the sorest! I'm excited but a little nervous too!

I'm happy there are people to help me get through this.

HIIT Power is pretty much a beast workout especially if you up your weights... Added with Inner Warrior, it's a great hour.. I have those two tomorrow morning..
But, to me, Upper Body Blowout was the killer.. I thought it was just a add-on type routine.. Nope.. It kicked me pretty hard.. Good luck with it!! And, thanks for the request..

I also wanted to say that I am a personal trainer and Dan was speaking my language at the end of HIIT 1. I went to a school and learned the anatomy, physiology, and exercises, etc. To hear Dan say EPOCH was music to my ears because he KNOWS what he is talking about!! I'm doing the basic Warrior and HIIT kicked my booty! I am sooooo loking forward to tomorrow! emoticon

Did Plyo yesterday and absolutely loved it. I always hated it with Tony (cause it kills me) Will probably do the full hour workout instead of the 30 tomorrow to finish out week 1 and then probably hit the gym for my day off.

day 18 will be getting done in a little while..Will be doing Power Hitt 1 and Inner Warrior stretch. Am up to using 25lb dumbbells for the power presses and clean sections. The part of this workout that always kills me is the hover plank ab section. It reminds of so much of Insanity max recovery with high plank and lower plank. My shoulders are on fire from yesterdays combat 60. I think i went harder then last time I did it on Monday. I think its my favorite routine of the series so far is the Combat 60. The only workout I haven't done yet is Combat Live 60 and 30 minute Live combat. My plan for after combat is the P90x/Asylum Hybrid then Asylum 2 for a 2nd round. Then working out with Shaun T on April 13th(which works out great since my last day of Asylum 2 is the 12. Then probably a asylum 2/p90x or x2 or combat hybrid idk.

Just finished day 19 this morning. After 2 days of Power HIIT/Inner Warrior and 2 days of 60, the 30 was almost like an off day.. UNTIL I put in Core Attack. Man.. My core is my weak area and those routines kill me. I might need to start doing that type of work on my off day.. Next week is going to be BEAST with 2 days of Upper Body Blow Out/Core Attack and 2 days of 60..

Did Power Hiit 1 and Inner Warrior yesterday afternoon and I made it much harder then when i did it on Tuesday. I used 35lbs for the dead lift section up from 30s and then did 25lbs for all the clean and press and power press section. Also during the burpee section I went full speed burpees but added pyramid pushups inbetween each burpee. I made it all the way up to 13 consertivue burpees in that section. Then came the core stability and ab portion. My shoulders were blasted from all the burpees and presses. Was a really good workout. I won't have this workout again for another few weeks according to the schedule. Today is supposed to be core attack/kick start 30. I'm going to swapout kick start 30 for Combat Live 30 instead just be different. @Dale I'm excited for the upper body blow out and core next week also. Woke up a bit sore but nothing unbearable. The only workout I haven't done yet is the Combat Live 60 and the 30 minute live but will be doing that one today. My least favorite workout has been the lower body lean out(even though only completed it once).

Finished the Combat 45 Kata yesterday...so far, its my favorite! Variety of punching and kicking made it go by really fast. still not totally coordinated, but funemoticon

I have a friend that is trying to decide between Combat and TapouT XT.. I would be very interested in hearing what you have to say about comparing them.. Basically, she wants to get the more intense of the two..
