Day 1 - P90X - Angst
Day 1 - P90X - Angst
1/1/13 3:56 PM
I had angst before starting. Wasn't sure what I was getting myself into. But I was happy today to get my measurements done, get the photos done, do my starting fitness test, get all the equipment setup and finally get through the first workout of chest & back.

Now my angst is that I felt so pathetic after the 1st day. I'm not a totally out of shape person. I do cardio - running and the like. I can run 13 miles but I do no strength training. Geez, one pullup. The last few rounds of different types of pushups I could usually only get 3 or 4 and the last couple, diamond and dive bomber, couldn't do any. And for the pullups, had to use resistance bands to approximate the motion after that first one to get any more exercise out of it. (Plus it's problematic to get a place to do pullups.)

I guess the good news is I made it through the whole workout even if I didn't do nearly as much as I'd hoped. I'm sore as heck. Feel like it's already helping me. Definitely super motivated.

Looking forward to Day 2.

Chris

Goodjob on having the guts to even try P90X! I remember when I started P90X for the first time in 2009 I had never worked out before but I was super skinny and imagined it would be easy for me. I still got owned! I recorded my thoughts after day 1 and now over 3 years later I'm way more built and strong. I highly recommend you record these times of struggle and look back in years to come when you have reached your fitness goals on go "wow I remember when I was like that, I've changed so much!"
