Legendel:
Ahoy! So I'm a dedicated p90x/p90x2/Insanity user. I've completed all the programs many times and am currently just switchingS up my routines to keep things interesting. Just recently I've decided I wanted to push myself further and do the Tough Mudder coming up in April. I'm only worried about it because I freaken HATE running. I can cardio anyone to death but when it come to running I''m an epic fail. I have enough somewhere around 3 miles. ugh. I need suggestions. What program should I focus on to help me get through this thing. I have decent upper body strength but I don't do the chest videos because my chest started looking to manly lol But i can still knock out quite a few push ups. Anyways I just want to complete this thing and not embarrass myself. I rock a "P90XFAN" licence plate and well some people might laugh if i don't make it to the end. So any of you wonderful people out there who might have some pointers for me that have experienced this TM please though them at me. I do have my NASM PT cert so i'm not an idiot when it comes to fitness I just need to know whats worked for others. More P90x for strength or more Insanity for stamina and endurance?
Thanks,
LEGEND
Congrats on taking your fitness to the next level. I have completed theTough Mudder twice. TM Vermont, said to be the toughest mudder inthe U.S a year ago....
I trained using P90X and Insanity for the first one. That worked out fantastic. Insanity for cardio, P90X for strength. Inthe northeast we had freezing cold water obstacles. Nothing but pure will power helps with that. I know know what it is like to exit water and be completely numb from the neck down....
The second TM I used P90X2 and a running routine. Not a good training routine. I could barely walk at the end... I earned my second orange head band but it was tough...
I hope this helps.
