New Slim in 6 workouts
1/3/13 9:39 PM
I ordered the Slim in 6 program back in 2003. I got great results. Now, some time later, after having a surgery, I let myself go and gained all the weight back. I saw Debbie Siebers' newly upgraded versions of the program on an infomercial with a great deal on the Activit Vitamins. I didn't hesitate to order (at 3 am)!
I am on day 4 now. I love how its the same moderately paced program, but she's added new moves and in different combinations than before. I love this program, because I'm not one for an extreme workout, when first trying to get in shape. I feel that I have to grow into tougher workouts gradually. This program is perfect for that. I also like using the resistance bands a lot more than I thought I would (they were included with the program). The disc series includes the guidebook and a Beachbody tape measure. They also offer a T-shirt on successful completion and photo submission of your results. I'm completely jazzed!

Wieght Gain Causes! Ugh!
1/3/13 9:52 PM as a reply to MzTanikaI.
Are there any women out there, who were already aware that they were putting on wieght; then has a spouse that decided he needs to confirm this fact?

That's what I've been dealing with lately. Don't get me wrong, I love my husband. I don't blame him at all for wanting to have an attractive wife. However, I don't think he realizes that some of the cause of my poor diet, and emotional or stress eating, is rooted from the pressures of trying to earn an income, and still having a household to run. My husband is an excellent provider, but a lot of the things that need to be done around the house, meals and maintaining the food supply all fall on me. I do all the "nagging" chores. He pretty much gets off of work, picks up the kids if necessary, then goes home and flops! I leave work, and he's asking ME what the plan is for dinner. Even on the days he has off and I've been working all day, he won't lift a finger on his own to help out. I have to specifically tell him, or he volunteers when things get really bad. He doesn't get it!

He said he wouldn't make any comments about my wieght any longer because it is not worth me getting mad at him over. He says he loves me no matter my size, but knew that there was not a way he could let me know that he noticed the wieght gain without getting himself into trouble.

I realize this is a sensitive subject in any relationship. You're probably reading this and thinking, "What a jerk!" That's what I though at first. Then, I had to realize that I didn't feel as great about myself as I used to. Additionally, I did have an intention to start trying to do something to keep my weight under control, but didn't want him to try to rush me, or remind me either.

I have made this committment to "Decide, Committ, Succeed" once again with Beachbody. I know I'm long over due.

I have experienced similar events in the past, but now am divorced. You are correct, this is a sensitive subject in a relationship. I talk to a lady on facebook whose husband left her because she was overweight, that is so sad to me. I also ordered the new slim in 6 at some terribly odd hour. It is difficult not to hope some new program will work this time. I have done well this week. I hope you are doing well too. Be encouraged. You are working on it. Good luck!

Are the new Slim in 6 workouts different enough to warrant purchasing? I love the original workouts and would definitely buy the new ones if they have changed that much! Anyone know? Thanks so much!

Hi there!
The new workouts are just re-recorded w/ a new set, new cast. The moves are about the same, just made more modern. She's made the combinations a little more tough, and a quicker pace. The set also included some cool bonuses.

Cardio Core Express is still my fave. I still have a long way to go as far as seeing results. Still struggle with consistency. During this workout, when u hold your stomach in the whole time, as the trainer insists; the workout is much more difficult for me. There definitely is more of a challenge, but still low impact. Its fun too!

Thanks for the info on the videos. I just stumbled across the infomercial and felt inspired to use Slim in 6 again. I've been incredibly lazy for years now and haven't touched a workout in far too long. and i have the weight gain to show for it.

I also noticed that the workouts looked different, but wasn't sure if they were different enough to warrant buying. I even checked with customer service to see if previous customers could get the upgrade either at no cost or at a discount. Apparently that is not an option.

Still on the fence about buying the new version. It is less than what I paid back in 2003. Also it may be worth buying again because I'm sure my old dvds are a bit scratched up.

So yeah, it's time to get off my butt and start working out again. When I did slim in 6 years ago I was getting in some fantastic shape. Now I'm in the worst shape of my life. Again, time for a change!

Hi Stacy!

I'm glad I could give you some insight into the new videos. I think they are worth buying. The workouts are similar but definitely more kicked up. And she has had added some more challenging moves. You also get the two bonus work outs. My lower body is a weak area for me. The bonus videos include a thin thighs guaranteed work out. Its only 10 minutes long. And it'll be just enough to warm you up and get you motivated to do the rest of your work out. Or not! Thanks for posting!

Today I did a short walk. I also used the work out that I previously mentioned. I haven't been working out for about a week. This video is a great way to enter back into a routine. it's short but challenging. It hits all of the troubled spots, Lol!

Hi MzTanikal,

I did order the updated DVDs. They came super fast too. I started back on Slim in Six last Monday and used my old DVD for Start it Up. Tuesday the new ones came in and so I switched to those.

I did Start it Up for the whole week since it has been soooooooo long since I really worked out.

Though I was getting worn out the first couple of days by the 4th and 5th (I'm doing 5 days per week) I could tell how much better I was doing. They weren't super easy, but they weren't nearly as butt kicking.

Today I did Ramp It Up. I am really proud of myself - I got through it quite well. I had to pause for some stuff but nothing major. I think the abs were the area I missed the most reps and would do just regular crunches instead.

I noticed on both workouts (I haven't checked out Burn it Up yet) that they are a good 10 minutes longer than the old ones. On the one hand that is good, but on the other it's a pain. I thought the 45 minutes (or however long it was) on the old Ramp it Up was the perfect length. I'm not a fan of hour long work outs. lol I'm rather scared to see how long Burn it Up is if the others have gotten longer. Ramp it Up is nearly as long as Burn it Up is on the old dvds.

At least I can always mix it up more if I want to. So if one day I'm not feeling doing 55 minutes of RiU I can do the old RiU to save some time.

Off topic a bit - but I wonder if Debbie has had work done. She looks SO young. I was curious and looked up her birthday - she'll be 52 in a few days! Wow!

Hope you're still getting your workouts in - whatever they may be!

hi there Stacey!
I think Debbie may have had work done. But I think its more of just a shot here and there. She doesn't have the appearance of those who have had a major facelift. We've all seen what those can look like! Lol!

I'm still getting my workouts and, I'm still on start it up! I have to do them at a slower pace. I did notice that ramp was more difficult. However I didn't notice that it was longer. Maybe that's why I was having such a hard time getting through it lol! Glad you're enjoying the new DVD's and getting through ramp it up. That is so excellent!! I've tried it up a couple of times but it was just killing me.Especially on the leg lifts! So, it looks like I'm still going to be on start it up- I guess for another week. See you soon!

I hear you on the leg lifts. Here's something I do because I can NOT get through them straight through: I alternate legs. So I do the right leg with the extension one, then the straight leg with my left leg, then back to the right leg for the bent leg lift. Then repeat but starting with my left leg. Granted, that's with the old Ramp it Up. I noticed they had a different layout, so to speak, with the new Ramp It Up and it's probably just as well to do both sets per leg as they do them.

Tonight I just didn't have as much time, so I did the old Ramp it Up. I'm trying to get 9 hours of work from home and slept late.

I'm trying out a schedule where I work 9 to 10 hours on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. I think on those days I may end up doing a shorter workout (like the old ramp it up versus the new one). Though some days I may have enough time for the longer ones.

Glad you're doing something! I figure continually doing Start it Up (especially the updated one) is far better than nothing. I think you could get in some decent shape doing that one consistently.

hi there. I started ramp it up this morning. I only could get through 25 minutes of it. I did have to take a little more time stretching, as I am still sore from a2 mile walk yesterday. Generally a two mile walk wouldn't be difficult. however in my neighborhood there are a lot of hills a lot of curves a lot of ups and downs. I live in SoCal. It is extremely hilly here. No matter which direction I leave my house there are hills. That is why a two mile walk near my home is difficult for someone my age and weight. I need to poose at least ten pounds per Drs. orders, but would like to lose 40 to 50. Right now the scale isn't moving. I am taking my measurements with a tape measure also. At least it hasn't gone up though! See you soon!

lol - you started in Ramp it Up and I've gone back down to Start it Up. Last week I was just wrung out. The hours I was working and lots of frustrating things. So I did Start it Up a couple times instead of Ramp it Up. Even did the OLD start it up because it's shorter.

Only worked out 4 days last week. However, that's 4 days more than I had been, so I'm not too upset with it. I just had such a pain in the butt day on Friday and had something waste so much of my time that I just didn't feel like it/get around to it that day. and weekends are my time "off".

Today I'm still kinda tired and feeling low energy, but not as bad. So I did the newer Start it Up. I figure as long as I'm doing something most days, that's what matters most.

So despite some crap going on I've mainly stuck to working out.

And good for you for starting Ramp it Up. Even 25 minutes is good stuff!

I haven't been formally told I need to lose weight. I'm reallllllly healthy despite the extra pounds. I want to lose about 60 - but I'm really tall so it doesn't look like I need to lose that much. I definitely have put on a good deal of weight, but at least it isn't as noticeable if I was say 5'0".

I haven't weighed myself since I got started - and I won't for awhile. I started the other day and that's the worst time to weigh in, so not going to upset myself in that department. lol

But before I started I did take some measurements and I've lost an inch so far from my waist. And I'm feeling like I'm getting more toned. Things feel firmer. So I'm proud of that progress.

Keep it up!
Stacy

Good for you Stacy!

Great job on losing an inch, and tightening up! 4 days a week is absolutely excellent!! Much better than I've been doing, lol! You're lucky that you're tall, and that extra weight doesn't look so heavy on you. I'm only 5'5, so the extra weight really does look like extra weight on me.

I had a small victory today. I actually got through all of ramp it up. I did have to take some breaks during the course of some of the exercises. However, I had an excellent workout! I feel like I've finally pushed past the part that burns so bad that I have to quit. Glad to see you on here! Glad you're seeing results! Enjoy your day and your holiday! Tanika.

I started Burn it Up yesterday and I know its new and I don't know the moves, plus its harder, but I got so discouraged I only did about 10 minutes of it today. I only have two weeks left to "complete" the program. Help?

Do not get discouraged. Just always do the best you can every time you work out. If you keep at it, you will improve a little with every session. Hang in there, you only have two weeks left, you can do it! Have you seen any results so far?
