Hi My name is Phill I am a newbie in the UK just got my Insanity through yesterday and took the fit test last night. Oh MY GOD I nearly died and the pain is unbearable today. I can at least hold solace in the fact that I pushed my self and that's why it hurts so much.

I weigh 181Lbs and would ideally like to be 145Lbs I have always been over weight and never been in shape I have smoked from an early age (I quit yesterday) and drink quite alot of wine! I am doing this for myself and my family, I want my two daughters to see how hard work pays off and give myself new confidence and energy.

I got my wife to take my before and after pictures last night and I was horrified, I will look at these everyday to keep me motivated. I will also upload one asap.Support is important to me sometimes I need pushing and hopefully I can get that hear.

Despite the aches and pains I am excited about doing Insanity day two tonight and pushing myself again I know it will get easier as the days go on and I am pumped after seeing so many success storys!

I look forward to working out with everyone.

Hey Phil

Welcome abord the Insanity train - I am from the UK as well (Gateshead) and started my Insanity on xmas eve to try and not put weight on over xmas - worked - managed to lose 2lbs instead of putting on 6 so really happy.

Know what you mean about the photos - i weighed in at 250 lbs so imagine how i felt and the effort it took me to get started. Really pleased i did though as now nearing end of second week and can already feel the benefit. Follow Shaun T's ideas and take breaks when you need them - it says it gets easier but not sure on that one - only joking - it does get easier.

Also dont be fooled by Cardio Recovery - you will hurt but you will also feel good after it.

I will send you a buddy link and we can keep track of each other if you like.

Enjoy your workouts - take breaks when you need to and drink water at every break.

Enjoy

John

PS Congats on stopping smokin - that is probabaly harder than Insanity - stopped 16 years ago and it was the best thing i ever did - just watch the food as you will start to taste it now.

Hey Phill,

Great job for jumping on the Insanity TRAIN!! And it's gonna be one heck of a ride for sure!

And you know, we all suffer big time at the beginning. In fact, when a friend of mine did the fit test she finished it off with her head in the toilet thinking that she was either going to puke or pass out. But, it didn't take her long before she was kicking butt. So hang in there-it gets easier.

Also, as you get fitter, your body will get used to the moves and you won't be as sore. I would however suggest a good recovery drink to keep your blood sugars leveled out and your muscles happy--they can really do wonders. BB offers a great one, and there are others on the market too that are good.

And I'm happy to hear that you took before pics too. Not only will they motivate you--they will also really help you see your progress, as often the scale is not the only indicator of success. I'm working on a hybrid of P90x and Insanity, and have actually decided to take a pic every day and then track the progress--just a fun way to see how my body changes.

So, best of luck!! You're gonna do great! emoticon

Holy Cow! Just finished my first Plyometric Cardio Circuit and just picked myself off the floor, that was the hardest workout I have ever done but I pushed play, ignored the pains from yesterday and completed it.

I felt bad because I couldn't keep up with everyone else but I have to realise these guys have been doing it for a long time and they still have to stop, So I just kept pushing myself.

I don't have a recovery drink yet and the p90x drink is not available in the UK So I had a glass of milk which I read is good for post work out, if someone could shed some light on that I would be grateful. I also had a slice of seeded wheat bread with peanut butter on after the workout, Good Idea? or not?

On to Cardio power and resistance in the morning that should be fun to spend my Birthday morning.

Peace and out.

Phill

I look forward to keeping track with you John I have found the smoking quite easy so far I was ill over christmas and went 5 days without one or a craving so I figured I would carry on I have an electric one for when I do need to smoke though and it does help alot.

Hi John,

Hope Glad to see you are still going with the program. I am still here onto day 9 and really enjoying it, despite it being the hardest thing I have ever done.

In the first week I lost 2lbs and 1 1/2 inches off my waist so what more motivation could I need to keep going!

I feel like I want to do more though, but I just wouldn't have the time to and considering before this I never exercised I think I would be pushing myself to far.

Every one in my office thinks it's a farce and that the people in the before an after pics must be different people so I am determined to prove them wrong when they see mine.

Look forward to hearing about your progress.

Phill

Phil

Dont let on ot them and just show them your pics when your done. I must admit i was a bit dubious but I can definitely see results after 17 days even across the abs so cant wait to show my pics to all.

Keep going and good luck - once youve done one week you can do the rest easy (or so they say)

Will ley you know how i progress each week.

Cheers

Hi John,

Hope you are well just checking to see how you are getting on? How are you finding the MAX work outs I have a couple of weeks before I start mine yet but I am a bit dubious.

It's working out great for me Fat is falling off on a daily basis I have lost half a stone in 3 weeks and can fit into clothes I haven't worn for years.

regards,

Phill

Hey Phil

Good to see your hanging on in there and pressing play every day.

I started the Max interval workouts today and wish I hadn't - its brutal!
Feels like I am back to Day 1 of Insanity again and when you look at the clock you still see half an hour to go and you have no energy left.
Just got to dig deeper.
Got through but the smug smile that I had after my last fit test has quickly been wiped off my face.

Max Plyo tomorrow night - dreading it!

Keep going though

John
