Picky eater nutrition problem
Showing 13 results.
I've fell off the wagon with overloaded work schedule and school. Ive gained back all the weight and more.

I Dont like to eat Vegies, an when I buy fruit it tends to spoil by the time I get around to eat it.
I dont like salads or anything of that nature. I was hoping to get advice on a meal plan where it consists of just meat.

and any recipes for Chicken, hamburger, turkey, pork, ect would be great.
for sides I normaly stick to Rice, or Pasta. which Pasta is my downfall because I know its very high in carbs and calories.
I recently was Promoted to 2nd Lieutenant in the army so its important for me to get back into shape, because no one likes an out of shape leader.

Im going to start back with P90x , I went from 180 to 167 in just about 30-60 days. But back than Beachbody had the beter meal planner back than which you were able to add in resturant foods and plan accordingly if you knew you were eating out. it also provided the nutrition info on all foods name brand i.e. (prego, jimmy dean sandwhiches etc.) Now the meal planer doesnt allow you to customize it to how you shop or likes or dislikes you might add, replace, or remove to a meal.

I kept a few but they are all the same which starts with Oatmeal for breakfest
turkeyburger for lunch which i put emeril original spice, and BBQ sauce (not creative)
and dinner would be small amount of pasta with sliced chicken.

Currently Im 5,9
183 lbs
21% BF
I want to get back down into the 160-150s weight.

Fruits and veggies are important but if for some reason you cant eat them make sure your atleast getting LEAN proteins and oats or grains carbs wise. If eating pasta make sure its whole wheat pasta. If eating rice, make sure it brown rice. Id stay away from hamburger because of the grease and fat content. Egg whites, Tuna, Fish, Chicken, turkey, ham in some instances is good. To a smaller extent deli fresh cut turkey and ham sandwich meat is cheap and easy. I also like whey protein to help get my protein levels up! Wheat or whole grain breads only! If you cut out the bad carbs and fats especially sugars you will lose for sure! Ive dieted without much fruits and veggies (ate apples) and lost a ton of weight before.

Try your best to clean it up a bit and you will be just fine. If you want some recipes PM me and ill help you out! Hope that helps some!

Congrats on making 2nd Lt. That is fantastic.....and thank you for your service to our country!! As a police officer, I know how important it is to get at least a little bit of recognition for what you do! Enough about me....on to you!

Being a picky eater can be tough but not impossible. First off I would highly recommend using myfitnesspal.com to track all of the food you eat. personally this is a must. It is extremely important to know what your daily caloric intake level is as it is the baseline for any nutrition plan. I use the Harris Benedict formula to figure this out as it is the most accurate I have seen when determining daily caloric intake levels. If you provide me with your age, I can assist you with figuring this out.

For foods: any type of vegetable (I know you do not eat much but try!) (the greener, the leafier, the better!), almonds, pistachios, walnuts, strawberries, grapes, bananas, apples, quinoa, ground turkey, turkey, turkey sausage, chicken sausage, salmon, haddock (any seafood really!), chicken breasts, avacados, protein bars (Pure Protein brand is the best!), cheese sticks, turkey pepperoni, beef jerky, oatmeal, wheat or multigrain bread, eggs, skim or lowfat milk, greek yogurt (I like chobani personally!), steak (in small portions), tuna, brown rice, pork (preferably the tenderloin), hummus, ham.....

I am more than willing to assist you with putting together a meal plan. Please feel free to reach out to me as I am more than willing to help!!

I hope you find this info helpful!!! We are certainly here to help you and are extremely happy to be a part of your fitness journey!!

I'm 26 years old.
I don't like green leafy items or fish.
I do like green beans every now and again, also corn.
I do like almonds and peanuts and used them on my last diet.
I have used the app myfitnesspal which is like the old beachbody meal planner except its just a log so I can't plan accordingly.
I have been working out. M W F. But I stay at a constant weight.

Last time I lost weight I used oxyelite pro in the morning after my workout and before I ate.
Then used stacker 3 30mins prior to riding a bike making sure I burned 700 or so cals before stoping.

I know the supplements helped be crush cravings. But if I can get some recipes for low cal deserts that would be good because I have a weakness for icecream. I try to crush cravings with (fireballs) there low cal and low sugar.
I do like ground turkey, beef jerkey, chicken breast and protein, fiber bar.

Also to help with cravings taking a flaxseed supplement helps. Any of the good fats should help with cravings. Beef Jerkey is fine but high in sodium so you may retain some water but no biggy if your not eating it every day.

I only like 1 kind of jerky, Amish farms pepper jerky. Its not treated with any hormones or extra harmful substances. I try not to eat an GMO foods and only organic if I can help it. After a graduate class I've taken and seeing the results of gmos its only smart to stay away from them. Back to jerky amish seems to be more fresh and no as dry. Its worth the money, even though I havve to travel 30miles to the nearest gas station that sells it.

No worries!! We can work with that!! I ran your information you provided through the Harris Benedict formula which is a pretty accurate way of determing your daily caloric intake level, which I have said before is the foundation of ANY fitness/nutrition plan.

In order to MAINTAIN the weight you are at now, you would need to take in approximately 2900 calories per day while doing your fitness program. Clearly you want to lose weight! So here is my suggestion....take an 800 calorie a day deficit making your daily caloric intake 2100 calories per day. Working around the foods you would be willing to eat, I am confident we can come up with a decent meal plan for you!!

I look forward to hearing back from you!!!

Evan at 2100 that seems like a lot, p90x doesnt burn a lot of calories at most 400. For the next few months my activity levels will be really low. I'm taking Graduate classes full time and wont be to active. acording to my fitnesspal it shows me at 1260 calories plus any extra that might be burned during exersice. So if I start p90x it will be about 1800.
I also take oxyelite pro to crush cravings and CLA.
but I also do not want to lose Muscle mass becuase I feel thats what led to my back injury a year ago. I loss muscle mass in my back and when I would go running I would get severe Pain.

I forgot about myfitnesspal app, which allows me to scan my food which is a lot easier than having to look up the info.

I know that protein is needed for muscle gains howevera doctor told me too much was the reason why i might not have been able to lose weight. I would exersice in the morning, the have a recovery shake and protein bar for breakfest. a sandwich and yogurt , and almonds. than later for dinner would be what ever like pizza hamburgers steak pasta etc.

when I did p90x the cardio I felt was really weak. im considarding doing Tapout xt or rushfit. because the best workouts ive done before was the warmup drills I did when in mma classes. however I dont have a wrestling buddy to provide that nice workout and dont have the large long mats to do the intense mat drills.

If 1918 is your BMR, then why take in 1800 calories a day?? Taking in below your BMR on a regular basis puts the body in fat storage mode and decreases your metabolism thereby causing you to gain weight. I'm going to disagree with you that P90x only burns 400 calories at most....you burn what intensity you put into it. Using myfitnesspal to determine your daily caloric intake is not accurate at all....trust me...I will be starting my 7th round of P90x and I've learned trial by fire in this area.

Trust the science behind the formula and trust the program. 1800 calories is too low for your size while doing P90x. 2100 calories puts you 200 above your BMR which is good just in case you fall short of a snack during the day.

Let me know if you'd like some more information on this!!!

so you eat your bmr but exersice more to burn the calories and lose fat. so if I eat 2,000 cals and exersice -500 = 1500 to lose weight right?
because bmr just what you need to stay the same.
but I believe my body needs less becuase Im sitting around all day until I start working out again.

but if you burn past your BMR isnt that just the same as not eating enough to reach your BMR.
becuase I dont see how my body needs 1900 calories for sitting around and not doing anything.

because the basic knowledge of burning fat is to burn more calories than you take in.
