insanity
1/10/13 11:41 AM
Hello everyone! This is my first post and I was meaning to get this up earlier but I haven't really been near a computer that often. I am a 23 Year old male who has been battling weight problems for his whole life. I used to be really over weight (320 lbs) at 13 years old and eventually got into sports where i lost a good portion of weight. After high school I joined the National Guard and have been in for quite some time now. Problem is after spending so much time to get in great shape I let myself go and I am ashamed of it. I decided to start Insanity because I wanted to do something cardio intensive that didn't involve free weights. The day after christmas I began my journey and now I am on day 11. I feel great, I have lost a half inch off my waist, and I feel motivated to make it to the very end. Once I am done I will move onto Asylum and push myself further. I will try to update this as much as possible to keep everyone posted on my results.

Pics are from day 1 and day 8 I was going to do it every 7 days but due to work couldn't get a morning pic. There are minor changes in the two pics that I notice and I am happy to see my hard work is paying off.

If anyone has wise advice or would like to give me some tips it would be greatly appreciated!

Hi! Thank you for your service. It is very appreciated!

Congrats on starting Insanity. You are doing great, the first week if often the hardest for people. What do you like about it so far? Your results are fantastic so far. Excited to see your progress. Things that are really important are eating as clean as possible and making sure you are eating enough. Eating too little is just as bad as eating too much. Are you following the nutrition plan? Tracking?

What is your overall goal with Insanity? What sports did you play? Are you playing any now?

Also, getting in enough water. I make sure to have a water bottle with me at work.

If you are looking for a fun, supportive group to work out with, come check us out! Suppport & Motivation Thread

Happy to help with any questions!

Bring it!

Cheers,
Christina

Hey Christina, thank you for the post! As for what I like so far? Lol I would say the muscle soreness directly after the workout. That means its working well. As for eating no I am not on the nutrition plan as I am om a budget but I have cleaned up my diet a good amount. I eat a lot of grilled chicken and brown rice, egg whites, green tea, etc. I also have a shake after workouts (amplified wheybolic extreme 60) and I am on a bottle of oxy elite pro (old formula).

My overall goal is to shrink the waist I don't care about weight loss I am more interested in toning up. I did football, cross country, and track amd field

I am 3 days behind you on Insanity. Well done on the progress so far. I will be measuring (i.e. inches, fat percentage) every two weeks, so I am hopeful that I also have good results when I check on Sunday.

I only want to lose 2-5 pounds (I was 6 foot, 170 pounds when I started), but I really want to take a couple inches of the waist and hips... and tighten up my chest region. These are my stubborn areas. I will check in on this thread from time to time to see your progress.

I was doing cross fit for awhile and was losing weight and getting in shape quickly but my shoulder got messed up so had to stop. A lot of the workouts I did were similar to these so I still had some endurance coming into the test. As for favorite exercise on the test I enjoy the power jacks. In regular work outs I would say level 1 and level 2 drills

Great. I look forward to the results man. Things have been going well for me too. I had my second fit test and it went well; I can post the results later. Today is my 3rd week recovery day... getting closer and closer to the 2nd month. I am interested to hear your experience with that once you get there, since you are ahead of me a few days!

Dude..all of that in 15 days?! Wow you're doing your thang, keep up the awesome work! Don't be nervous for month 2, it's quite fun actually. I'm on day 3 of Month 2 and eventhough it's brutal, it's a nice change up from Month 1 exercises. If you think you're seeing results now, just wait until you hit month 2..this is where the results really begin

I can totally see some great improvements in your last pics. Keep it up man! I think you are going to rock it in month 2.

I dropped 2 pounds in the first 2 weeks (which was more than enough). So now I am at 168 pounds, 6 foot tall. I started adding to my calorie intake so I don't lose too much more weight. More importantly, I have been making improvement on my main goals: tightening up the mid section and chest. I lost an inch off the hips, and inch off the chest and 1.5 inches on the waist. Body fat % is also down. I am happy with the progress so far... and looking forward to month 2. I think I am going to have to add another 400-500 calories a day there so I don't lose too much weight. Looking forward to your updates!

Thats great man! I am down over an inch an a half off my waist that I know so far. I haven't measured it in a few days. I am on a fat burner so its helping a lot. I know I have lost over 10 pounds so far probably closer to 15 and still going strong. When month 2 hits and the workouts go longer and harder I know results will come very quickly and I am excited to see how it is. Anyway keep it up man I am looking forward to see how your 1 month results are.
