MIAMI HERE I COME!!

Alright guys well I have 8 weeks until I go on vacation to Miami and will be starting BB in two days.My question is, Can I do bb and add in cardio (like zumba or running) about three or four times a week? I really would love to tone up and lose about ten lbs.Any thoughts?

I think you can add some extra cardio. I'm doing the Lean Beast routine, so there is already 1 day of cardio in the program. I'll also add in extra cardio 2 times per week.

You will need to eat at a deficit in calories to lose the 10 pounds...and I'm talking probably 600-800 caloric deficit to make sure you lose 10 lbs in 8 weeks. Substract 600-800 from your calculated CIM amount to get this number. That said you will burn a lot of calories in Body Beast...and you might also consider the Tempo workouts...which really work your muscles...and burn calories. The primary goal of Body Beast is to pack on Muscle Mass but I have clients losing weight on it. To much cardio might prevent recovery as you will desstroy your muscles in Body Beast (just wait until you do Build legs).

If you were going to do extra cardio I would sit on a bike for 10 minutes and maybe walk for 20-30 minutes to burn the fat. I would keep cardio low impact so your body can repair the damage you are about to put it through. Also consider the Tempo workouts in the Build Phase to burn even more calories.

Make sure you are eating the right Macro (I prefer 50% carbs, 30% protein, and 20%) fat. This macro is balanced and builds muscle and you can lose weight with it as it is your calorie target that drives the direction of your weight.

If you need help running your numbers, head over to my Body Beast Calculator (find your CIM, and subtract 600 to 800 from it).

Happy Lifting,
