Need some guidance and help...........
Hi All,

My friend recently gave me his Insanity DVDs and asked me to try it out as I've been looking for a program to lose weight. I have been at it for the past 4 weeks and today, I will finish the last day of week 4 and proceed to recovery week. The problem is that I do not see any significant weight loss at all.

A little about myself:
I live in Australia and I work as an adviser and basically I spend a lot of time traveling (sitting on plane or waiting for my next flight or in a taxi to/from the airport), meetings (sitting down again), lunch/dinners with clients (means that food is usually restaurant food and drinks are beer/wine). I have cut back on my alcohol intake massively and have been trying to drink more water instead. I am (184cm)6", (100kg)220lbs. By the time I get home, it is close to 11pm. I'm usually knackered from all the entertainment but at least now, I've stuck to the Insanity schedule and have been religiously doing it. But as I've mentioned above, I do not see any significant weight loss at all even after month 1. The most I've seen is that I've lost 1kg or 2.2lbs. I wish to lose weight fast, preferably lose about 25lbs asap as there is an event I need to attend which I wish that I can look my very best and not look round. There's no access to shakeology here as the quarantine laws are quite ridiculous. I do not know my fat % but I'm pretty sure it's quite high.

I am starting to lose motivation due to almost 0 results after all the workout. Granted, I can barely keep up with some of the exercises but I do try my best and dig deep. I started fit test with some moves I wasn't even able to do, and the 2nd fit test, I had some results where I could complete every single exercise. Before I give up completely, does anyone has any help/advice to aid me in my quest to lose weight?

Thanks in advance!

First - CONGRATS on finishing a month of Insanity! Especially with your crazy life style emoticon

Without changing your diet, you are still making changes to your body.

Fat vs Muscle

So even if you are not losing on the scale, your body is converting fat to muscle. You will see a difference in inches and also in your fitness level. That is why it is so important to do the fit tests, take pictures and measurements.

Now, if you want to get the most out of your program, you should start tracking your food and eating a cleaner diet.
Here is the link to the Insanity Diet:

Insanity Meal Plan

This is a simple, clear way to eat with the program. If you can stick to this, you will see greater results.

Let me know if you have any questions... I am on my second round of Insanity and trying to clean up my diet too emoticon You can do this without Shakeology... you'll just need to plan a bit for healthier meals (thankfully it's a bit easier while traveling these days).

First of all, not everyone will see results on a program in the first month. But Beth has it right. Even if the numbers aren't moving on the scale, you are probably losing fat. Did you take your measurements?? Are your clothes fitting better?

After a number of years with Beachbody I will tell you this....the number one factor in success in ANY fitness program is NUTRITION. You can NOT out exercise bad nutrition. Cut out the alcohol...hard I know, I love my martini's...or switch to just a couple of glasses of red wine and REALLY dial in your nutriton.

If you need any help with this, message me.

I know how you feel man, i was disappointied with my month 1 results as well. Did you take measurements? because you will see yourself loose inches before weight loss.

that's great results on your second fittest. My advice is step off the scale for a while and ignore it because the scale is the biggest demotivitional tool there is. take lots of pics before and after, and take a pic each month and you will see results even if that scale doesnt right away.

Thanks everyone! I was so close to giving up yesterday when I got back home. It was a little past midnight and I read through all your posts, put on my gym gear and finished the cardio circuit. I guess we all need that little extra push sometimes and I thank you all for this.

I have not taken measurements prior to starting, but I rang my tailor this morning and I'm sitting at a waist size of 40". I want to reduce that to 34 if possible or at least that's what my goal is. I'm starting on Core cardio and balance soon and really hope to see the results. So far, my waist is 39". I guess that's a little bit of results?

I will try to stick to a proper nutrition plan. The problem I have is that I usually skip the most important meal of the day. Not because I don't like it, but because I'm not hungry at all. On weekends, I usually do Insanity before dinner but I'm just not hungry after the workout at all. Am I weird? After each workout, I'm covered in sweat, my heart rate goes up massively, I can barely talk after each session. Once I'm done cooling down and try to get something to eat, I can only have a few mouthfuls and I'm full. Am I doing anything wrong somewhere?

I feel the same way after my workouts. I was just telling my fotness group that after my workout I went into the kitchen afterwards to eat... and realized I wasn't hungry. So I drank some water instead and waited for a while and then had a smarter snack.
You really should try to eat in the morning. I never like to, either, but it starts your metabolism for the day. Otherwise you just stay stagnant. I now drink water as soon as I get up, and eat something within 45 minutes. It's a pain, but just do it!
An inch already????? That is great progress! Remember that muscle takes up soooooo much less space than flab emoticon
Planning your food out will help you so much - both with progress in shaping up and with energy levls!!!

a couple of years ago I went from a 42+inch waist to 34/36 using p90x and diet. I kept that weight off for around two years and still wear a 36 now. I'm looking to go to 34/32 using this round of insanity, and I'm on my third week now. not much weight loss, but I took pics on day one and at the end of week 2 and you can defiantly see the difference. I strongly encourage you to take the pics as they are one of the best ways to see the change. I just compared my two week into insanity pics with by before p90x pics and the change is huge. Still a long way to go, but I feel a lot better and the pics help me more than anything else.

I also work pretty late and travel a good bit. I do my workouts pretty late at night and it just fits with my rhythm. I'd love to do the mornings, but I just can't get it done.

Last similarity is that I hated breakfast too. I was always sleeping as late as I could and out the door to work within 20 minutes of waking up. No time to eat and I often wouldn't eat until I got home from work. It was terrible. One of the keys to me losing weight was eating 5 meals a day and keeping it spread out. I eat breakfast bars or drink a shake every morning now and it makes a huge difference. You just have to suck it up and start eating them and soon you won't be able to skip one because you'll feel so tired in the morning without it.

Best of luck. I know it can be done. It's not easy, but if I can do it, anyone can. I promise that. ;)
