Advice on how to proceed...
So I am currently on day 9 of insanity. I get my wisdom teeth taken out on Thursday. I just found out I am getting it done so now I have to plan accordingly. The timing will put me on day 12 of the program that I get it done. I can get that morning's workout done before my appointment but my question is how do I proceed from there?! How many days should I take off? I plan on asking my dentist this of course as well but for anyone who may have had theirs done during a workout program, remembers the downtime from getting their wisdom teeth removed, etc would love to know what to expect and how to plan. I don't want my expectations to cause em failure so I want to be informed. When I am able to jump back into the swing of things how should I proceed with the program? Start right where I left off? Start that week over? Or from the beginning?

How many days you take off will depend on alot of factors...how much trauma the dentist ends up causing, how fast you heal, etc. I personally would go with the dentist recommendation and if he/she doesn't know what insanity is, just tell them you will be doing some hard core aerobics. I'd say at least a week. During that time, focus on your nutrition, get some walks in. And start back at the beginning.

This is a great question, I'm curious too since I need to have mine removed. Seems like most people are back at things pretty quick after the surgery, but your dentist will know best.

As far as getting back into things, I would just start back up where you left off. Unless for some reason you were out more than a week, but I would be surprised if it was that long.

Okay will have to just see how this goes I suppose and see just how much time I wind up missing. If I miss more than a week I will start over if not I will try to just pick back up where I left off. Nutrition is going to be creative but I will try to stay on point there.

Just updating, got my extraction done. Dentist says 1-2 weeks if not longer at the least with him pushing me towards putting it off the full two. His speech to me was this was not the time to focus on getting in shape but making sure I heal properly or risk being out for possibly over a month if I cause myself an infection or something. Guess I will just eat as best I can and be smart with my downtime though not sedentary. Will start insanity over when I am healed up and on to real foods again.

Thanks for the update! 2 weeks isn't too bad, and definitely smart to not push it and end up being out for longer.
