Accountability Day 1 - 90 of P90X.
Hello,

This is my first post on my new P90X journey.

After 10 years of trying and failing to get super fit, I am starting this post to keep myself on track and avoid another disappointing attempt. Approximately 6 mths ago I purchased P90X after seeing some great youtube videos on individual's results. I hoped the structured programme would get me through however as usual a few weeks in I quit at the first hurdle. (I have a personality that goes from an enthusiastic 200% to a disappointing 0% like a light switch). Since my first failed attempt of P90X I have not done any exercise nor taken any notice of my eating habits which has resulted in a gain of 10kg over my usual weight of 79kg. My fitness levels have deteriorated to an all time low which is not fun when trying to board a boat with 30-40 kg of dive equipment strapped to you!

Therefore I am hitting P90X with 110% (as opposed to 200% emoticon) with the desire to get through the full 90 days and more. My reasons are as follows in no particular order.

- My wife and I are expecting our first baby in June. I want to be emotionally and physically able to give him/her my all.
- To maintain an active lifestyle well into my later years. I want to be old and playing golf, fishing etc rather than watching Dr Phil in a nursing home.
- To achieve a 10 year goal that I have failed in previously
- Give me the confidence that I can complete things I start.
- To prove to myself that slow and steady wins the race, and not just sprinting from the start line.

I started day 1 on 1/1/13 (no better date to start than thatemoticon) and here are my day 0 photo's.

My plan with this post is to not write every day, but simply post weekly photo's of my progress and possibly a brief update on how it's going. By making my intentions public on this forum will give me extra motivation to succeed as I don't like disappointing people.

Thanks for reading, and I will post the end of week 1 photo's over the coming days.

This week I followed P90X workout's and diet programme as per the book, however I had a mate's bucks party on Saturday night where a few beers were downed which is not a good start. But on the bright side, that's the last social event for a while.

From my old analog scales weight seems to have dropped 550 grams, but will get a better indication of weigh loss next Monday which is the end of week 2.

I have found the diet has been super easy to follow as long as you plan or prepare what to eat each morning. Its the meals you don't plan for and try to substitute with alternatives that hurts.

There is a good youtube video I watched which makes things a lot easier. Once I followed these instructions I ended up with a list of what to eat each day. I ate the same things each day this week, and might only change it when I am sick of scrambled egg whites with chicken for breakfast emoticon, but so far still enjoying it.
