Hello! The problem I would like to discuss today is my skinny fat shaped body/runner's belly is what I call it.
So, I've already lost 15 pounds from my start out weight (130 lbs). I noticed that I am one of those unfortunate souls who lose fat rapidly from everywhere, but my gut wouldn't budge that quickly (yes, I am an apple-shaped body type). It's good to know that I've lost 2 inches around my waist, and I guess 2+ inches from everywhere else. And all of that was because I became a sprinter back in April 2012, and I still am. I work with free weights (5 - 10 lbs) 3 times a week & sprint 4 times a week.
I'm hoping that Insanity can help me with this problem. I would get P90x, but it looks like I have to buy a lot of equipment. I heard with Insanity, you work with your own weight, AND it's already cardio itself. So, I decided, why not?
How my diet is so far:
Sometimes I do the yo-yo diet (one day I'll take in 1500 cals, then 1300 cals). I'm supposed to eat 1800 if I want to keep my weight, but clearly I'm trying to shed off fat.
I try to limit the amount of carb intake, but of course, my diet consists of complex carbs - sweet potatoes, oatmeal, whole wheat bread, brown rice, etc.
I make sure most of my protein comes from lean meat - I most often eat chicken or fish meat. I do also drink whey protein shakes after I train.
I eat good fats that come from avocados (taken in moderation of course) & the omega fats in the fish meat I consume.
And finally, I drink 10 glasses of water a day.
