My calf muscles hurt so bad
Is there a way to get rid of the pain? I am only on day 2 of the workout and I can hardly walk. I want to be able to do the work out tomorrow, but I can't hardly walk. Do I take a break and then go back at it or push through this horrible pain.

What I do, and it seems to help a bit, is to stretch my achilles tendon. I just find a stair and dangle my heels over the edge. (Use the rail to keep from going too far down. Don't want to pull anything.) Just gently lower your heels and feel the stretch. It will probably really hurt then but when you get back up it will feel a little better. I just do it every now and then, and it doesn;t completely eliminate the pain, but at least I can walk.

Additionally to Joe recommendation you can:

1) bath your legs with cold water after the workout, this will help with the inflammation
2) have a recovery drink after your workout.

I agree with JoeTerry, the more I work a sore muscle the better it feels. This would be the same thing I would suggest. The less you move the worse it will feel.

One quick question, is the pain your normal muscle soreness or does it feel like something else might be the batter. Everyone has assumed it is normal soreness but if it is a pull or a strain then your answer is going to be a little different. Can you describe the pain a little bit?

The doctor says I tore/pulled my calf muscle and it will take 5-6 weeks to recover.

I would recommend a corrective stretching routine that incorporates the mysofacial technique regularly after about 1-2 weeks of icing. In the meantime avoid stretching and an calf realted exercises. Make sure you modify the exercises that you need to. Feel better!
