Day 9 - P90X - Hooked
Day 9 - P90X - Hooked

After the 1st two days I was a bit concerned. I could barely walk for the next couple days. Pretty brutal. And I had to greatly reduce what I was able to do in subsequent individual exercises because of it.

I learned a really valuable lesson which the materials try and hammer in your head but of course...my head was too hard to absorb anything. That's to do it at a level that works for you. I did so many pushups right at the beginning of Day 1 that it completely gassed me! So now as I'm into week 2 I'm doing it much more smartly. And when I added up the numbers from the Chest and Back workout, I was actually able to do significantly more pushups and resistance bands reps (not ready for pullups yet) by the end of the workout by doing less at the beginning.

Overall I am beyond thrilled. I do my workouts around 6 a.m. After I recover a bit, shower up and roll with my day, I find myself looking forward to the next morning to get after it again. Another important thing I'm doing is not overdoing it afterwards. I love cardio. Some days I want to go out and do another 45 minutes of running or lifecycle or stairmaster or whatever to keep a great sweat going. But I'm trying to be very careful of my body and not injure myself by overdoing it. I've got knee problems and other leg issues that could flare up.

I've lost 7 pounds in a week and a half. I'm assuming that since I'm also building muscle at the same time that the weight loss might actually be more in fat than the number indicates. Already feel my body changing. Feel myself getting stronger. Anxious to keep dropping the lbs which I would assume would help make the workouts a tiny bit easier.

That's it for today! Can't wait to start sweating tomorrow.

Way to start off the year by taking control. Sounds like you off to a great start and roughest times are behind you. I have knee problems as well (ACL,MCL) but have found a lot of success with P90x and now onto other programs. Would love to keep in touch and help you with any questions you might have down the road. Feel free to add me!
