Good morning! I recently started Insanity this Tuesday and this is easily the most motivated I've ever been regarding getting into "good" shape.

I'm not sure how this works so I'll just talk. Last couple days have been pretty intense. This workout slays my lower body but I love waking up with soreness. Not pain, just that little reminder that lets you know how far you pushed your body.

My current weight is 175 pounds and my goal weight is 155. Apparently I've already lost 3 pounds according to our manual scale. I'm not sure how that is possible but I have been doing very well with keeping up on the diet part of this program. I can tell my body is freaking out because of the lack of calories but I'm too motivated to really feel it.

Today though I am not about to do insanity. I am in the military and we do PT that is as intense as the insanity workout, give or take a few ounces of sweat. With that being said I got advice from my friend who has already done insanity and recommends that I just go straight onto the next day. I feel sorta guilty because I don't want to skip any days but I feel like this is one of those things where situation dicates.

So I am going to be tracking my experiance for the next 2 months here, sort of like a blog. Not sure if that is acceptable or not, but I will continue until I am corrected!

I look foward to meeting and getting to know all the motivators here and any advice I receive will be VERY MUCH apprciated!

Just some opinions

Insanity Started 01/08/13

Day 1 - Wake up call. I've been pretty lazy the last couple months and it showed. I didn't stop or take needed breaks while doing the fit test but I felt the pain. I might of pushed my body a little too far since I threw up afterwards but I wanted to see what my body could do compared to what I thought it could do. Very insightful.

Day 2 - Fun day! I really enjoyed doing all these exercises since most of them I would never of thought to do. They seem randon and off at first but when you do them you really do understand exactly how it will benifit you. Didn't throw up but the soreness is there.

Day 3 - PT

Day 4 - Reminds me a lot of yoga. Not much more to be said.

Awesome man! With your level of motivation you should be very successful. It wont hurt you at all to move on to the next day since your are already working out doing PT. Dont worry about going to the next day. Or you can not skip it will just extend your 60 days to longer. If you dont care then go for it!

Insanity is no joke! I just wanted to comment on a couple things. I would try to stick to the schedule as best as I could but listen to your body. Soreness is one thing you should try to work through. That next workout will help generate blood flow and help the muscle recovery process. But in month two I hit a section of fatigue. My legs felt like bricks. My philosophy is each workout has a purpose and if your body isn't able to benefit that purpose take a recovery day or two. Your legs take a beating 6 days a week. P90X and other workouts have more rest and only work a major muscle group 1-2 days a week.

As far as weight goes. Dont weigh yourself every day. Once a week or it'll drive you crazy. I weigh myself first thing after going to the bathroom in the morning. Water alone can fluctuate your weight 2-3 lbs easily. Also, I did insanity after p90x. I lost no weight (152) but my body fat went from 12% to 9%. Scale doesn't always tell the whole story. Best of luck to you!

Oh, my chest strength stayed about the same but my pullup #'s dropped about 25-30%

Thanks I really appreciate the advice. It's interesting working out my legs when my legs are already very sore, but I'm sure it'll all work out.
