swaping out yoga x with 45-60 mins cardio
I'm going swap out yoga-x with 45-60 mins cardio. I think it will burn more calories. And i simply dont have time let alone patience to stretch for over a hour in a half. I'm already flexible enough. W hat have you guys replaced yoga with curious see what other people have done?

Its not all about flexability. Its also about aiding in other facets of life and other workouts. It also makes you more durable. I would purchase Tony Horton one on one fountain of youth yoga if you want to replace yoga X. Its 45 minutes long instead of the hour and a half.

You know, Tony says that if he could only do ONE form of exercise he'd toss everything else and just do yoga. It's not just about flexibility but also about balance, calming your mind, relaxation and recovery. I agree that if the full Yoga X video is too long for you then swap one of the shorter vids. Or go to a real-life yoga class at a studio in your town.

I'm of the same opinion that if I ever stopped working out, the last one to go would be yoga. It really does have everything. Flexibility is only one aspect of it. Strength and
endurance are also big parts. I'm not much into the esoteric stuff, like calmness of mind etc..., but the one part I really appreciate is at the end you simply lay there for a few moments and then it feels just like you're getting up in the morning! Love that part.

Strangely everyone, myself included, goes through this intense hatred of that particular workout. Dude, I'm telling you, if you just keep at you will get to like it and then look forward to it. I know the P90X one is long so do P90X2. I found it a little easier but it is shorter for sure. I've been doing the programs for 3 1/2 years and I can tell you,
after doing P90X2 Total Body & X2AR earlier this morning, I am looking forward to the Yoga tommorow morning!
Just stick with it.
Another thing, workouts that are pure "cardio" (yes even the P90X one) have now been found to not be as effective as "interval" type workouts. Too long to explain, but search the internet and you will see. That's why in P90X+ there is "interval X" and the P90 series no longer has pure "cardio". All about getting the heart rate up and down now. So don't swap it out for something like that.

If this is your first time through p90x, stick with the program. Modify the moves or the time if need be, but do the program as advertised. It's designed this way for a reason and the yoga works on your weaknesses, improves your supporting muscles, increases your overall fitness and physical functionality and does wonders for recovery. Trust me, just like the above comment, I hated it the first month, but stuck with it and now it's one of my favorites.

I dont think it's going to hinder my results by not doing it. To each there own but it is just not for me!. I'm 145 lbs not trying lose weight anyways. I'm just trying to get toned up and get my abs back. I'll look into that interval training and probably do some kind of that for the yoga. Tons of my friends are very fit lift big (squats deadlift bench). And have never done yoga in there life. So i don't see it hurting me in anyway at allt
