insanity quit productivity

Hello All. I am on day 16 of Insanity and I'm pretty upset with myself right now. For some reason, at the 15 min mark, I hit a wall and I couldn't push anymore. I was actually angry. Every negative thought that I could think of came rushing into my mind and I couldn't shake it. I lost it. I told my wife that I can't do this anymore.

I am really enjoying this workout and after the Fit Test yesterday I was excited to see results as far as productivity and happy to see a 3lb loss.

I'm a grown man and all but I need help bad. I'm not thinking about quitting because like I said I'm enjoying this. I just feel horrible for giving up tonight.

You should feel proud that you have made it to Day 16 of Insanity so far! I can only aspire to tackle the Insanity program in the future and I have heard others say that they also hit a wall around the end of the second week. Do you have a coach you are working with to talk about your concerns? I am a new coach but with no experience with the Insanity program. If not, then all I can suggest is to keep at it and don't give up. You have come so far already and are seeing results, so keep that in your mind to crowd out the negative thoughts yelling in your head. Drown out the noise and keep at it. You'll get there.

Sven, don't be so hard on yourself as we all have moments like that at one point in time or another. Look at the progress that you've made and take comfort in the fact that you have no desire to quit despite how you were feeling. Just remember we are all here for you. Your wife is there for you and most importantly you are there for the new you.

Sven....First off, Insanity is an amazing program and is difficult.....but doable!! You are gonna have those days for sure!! I am in my 7th round of P90x and I STILL get those days. What I do to get myself out of the funk is remind myself why I signed up to Beachbody to begin with! Why am I doing this?? That answer ALWAYS gets me going again!! I also reach out to my team and my members for support and motivation to get me going again!! Having the Support of an amazing team is GOLD!

Sven,

You're a quarter of the way through an EXTREMELY demanding and challenging program, pushing your limits and doing so much good for your health. That means you're brave, determined, driven, and pretty kick-ass. Not every day will be sunshine and roses, BUT THAT IS OK! You've already gone so far, you've seen improvement, take comfort and pride in that!

A bad day is just that, a bad day. Not every workout will be great, but it's ok. You still did 15 minutes and for Insanity that's the equivalent of most workouts. Give yourself credit for the hard work you've put in, re-focus, and get right back on the horse with the next workout.

You got this.

By the way, are you working with a coach or accountability group? Those can be great resources for immediate support and motivation!

Keep digging deep, buddy.

Thanks guys. I crushed it on Friday night. It was nice to have a recovery night with some stretching a yoga.

Hi Sven,

Good to see your back. Health and Wellness is a total mind game. When those neg thoughts come into your head this is a great tip that helped me lose 73 lbs while doing P90X and Insanity and while Im doing Asylum. Think of a good "WHY". Simple right? Remember when you first saw this program you probably thought "I would love to try this", or after getting it, what made you start the program? Many people want to lose weight but wanting it not enough. Sure I want to have a six pack, But "why" do I want that six pack. If you find a good "Why" nothing will hold you back when working out.

When I started I wanted to be skinny, I never was able to get off my butt to do it. But when I was blessed with a son and couldnt play for more than a couple minutes I found why I wanted to get healthy. Now I'm able to play with my son as long as he wants. Positive thinking starts with "why".
