I REALLY want to get started on Shakeology, and it was supposed to be a major part of my program, but it's so ridiculously expensive, and I'm so piss poor, that I doubt it will ever happen. emoticon

Instead, I've been double dosing my ADD medication so that I have no appetite. Is there ANY option for someone who can't afford the product to get a discount or SOMETHING? I can't start my routine until I have it, and I have to be down 50 pounds by the beginning of June.

In addition to being overweight, I'm not very good looking in general. I'm actually rather hideous if you want my honest opinion. I posted 2 pictures below which show how I look currently. I know I'll always be bad looking, but I can at least drop the weight and make that improvement. And believe it or not, I'm only 38 in those pics. Not 45, 50, etc!!!!

If I can't do it according to the plan that holds the most promise, I'll have to resort to other methods (abusing Adderall, extreme running on 500 calories a day, taking laxatives, Alli (aka Xenical), thyroid meds, etc). I WILL be 175 by June 1st, and I'll get there one way or another. I don't care how dangerous it is. I'd really prefer doing it according to the plan I chose through this site, and by incorporating Shakeology into my diet. If I can't do it that way, then I'll do it the other way.

Is there no hope of obtaining Shakeology unless you're rich? Are there no discounts? Does anyone have extra packets lying around and is willing to sell some of them to me? (I'd have to pay 50% or less since I bring in less than $700 a month, and most of it goes towards my rent)

This really sucks. I can't even incorporate food into my budget and am forced to rely on the local food pantry (since most of what I have left after rent goes towards all the medications I'm on). There's no way in Hell I can afford $150-ish a month for shake powder. Can ANYONE help?

Thanks, but bragging about your success only makes me feel even more inferior and further proves what a failure I am.

I instinctively compare myself with others and can't control it.

I can't do anything right, but I'll be damned if I don't drop the weight by June, and will go to any length to do so (even if I have to order fen-phen from Mexico because I can't get elitist expensive Shakeology).

I added you just now. You should look at my pics. See how bad looking I am in general, and how much worse my obesity makes it. Yeah, I'm depressed and angry.

It's a bad idea to tell someone who suffers from major depression and has attempted suicide in the past to "cheer up". But thanks anyway for the compliments. I don't agree, but it was still a nice gesture.

Hello Jsf926,
The only discount for Shakeology that i know of are if you take the Home direct option you wont pay shipping and receive your shakeology each month.

The other alternative is to become a coach to get 25% off your purchase but you will have to 15$ each month to be a coach.


While Shakeology is a great product if you don't have the budget for it you can still have great results without it.

There is ton of food that are healthy and cheap. Tuna, Egg Whites, etc...

Why do you need to lose 50 pounds by june? What is your workout program? Insanity?


Please do not use drugs or any extreme diet method that could put your health at risk let you with no results. You gotta give yourself time, eat healthy and track your nutrition, stay accountable and you will see results.

Seriously, Shakelogy is not the end all be all. I am not sure what you are talking about that you need it for 'your program'. Fruits, vegetables, legumes, oatmeal and nuts are very inexpensive. Those foods followed along with excercise, you will drop the weight and feel much better about yourself. Come on, look at other options besides fixes from mexico, that is out of control. And Shakeology wont save you from any of this. Take a step back and think about what you are saying and thinking about.

Dude I'm with you. I've been where you are. And I'm getting out of it. Cutting weight is not the perfect solution. Doing something hard might be better.

Of course I started with something not as hard. I just got outside and learned my local trees and animals. I've gone to the park and rattled through the bushes to find twigs and started a fire in the BBQ pit. (Not anywhere else. No need to talk to the police on this.) There's something primal about fire. I even built a fire pit on my patio so I could just step outside and sit and stare at the fire I started. Even when it's crazy cold out I still try to get out and explore my local green belt once a week or so.

That led me to starting insanity. I'm on Day nine and I warn you the first week of that thing was AWFUL. I hurt so bad the first week. My goal is nto a weight number. (Gave up on that years ago) OR some set of fit test numbers. (Same situation there.) My goal is to prove to myself and anyone else that I can do a hard thing. And insanity is a hard thing.

I'm like you in that I'm piss poor too and can't afford the shakeology. I ended up buying Insanity from a guy that got two of them for Christmas, so I got that at a discount too. (Hope that doesn't get me booted) I cut my portion sizes, and cut out all my candy. (And that sucks. I love me some chocolates.) I had to allow some baked goods on my cheat day or I would have gone crazy.
Though truth is I'm poor enough that I've been eating what I hunted from the fall season and venison is super low in fat. So I have a bit of a leg up there.

If you want you can buddy up with me and we can be two depressed pudgy guys trying to get healthy. Careful though I deal with hard things by finding funny little bits in it. Sometimes I feel like a water buffalo wallowing in a mud bog when I'm trying to keep up with the trainer. (just don't want to get eaten by the cocodiles.)

You don't need shakeology to achieve the goal you have. I have lost 26 pounds and I just exercise and eat right. Not to mention I often don't exericse everyday and I still have treats.

Please don't attack people for responding with their suggestions. They are just trying to help and show you it is possible; it's not just bragging. JoeTerry is right though, you just need to get up and do stuff.

I cna help you with some meal plans and food ideas that aren't expensive and will get you results. Using the extreme ideas that you mentioned can hurt you and even kill you.

There is an easier, healthy way. You just have to put the work in; it won't happen overnight.

Seriously, message me if you'd like some ideas.

Just for starters:

Breakfast: egg whites ( i usually scramble 3-even at work in the microwave emoticon )

Lunch (mine are usually dinner left overs): whole wheat wrap with sliced turkey, avocado, black olives, 1 slice provolone, 1 piece of bacon, piece of romaine lettuce, little bit of ranch

Dinner: grilled chicken or pork or fish, steamed veggies like broccoli, carrots, zucchini, squash, brown rice

Snacks: yogurt, almonds, cheese sticks, beef jerky, apples, bananas, pears


I have tons more ideas that we have done.

I would suggest that you step back and re-evaluate your goals and the reasons behind them. Really think on the reasons why this is so important to you. If you honestly want to reach your goals -and- stay at your goal weight, the alternatives and the attitude that you don't care how dangerous it is are not the way to do it.

Besides just being bad for your health, those types of things are a 'quick fix.' Your results won't last.

You absolutely do not need Shakeology to drop your weight. If you want to get your weight off the right, healthy way and -keep- it off, it's absolutely doable with any food preferences, a good workout program and on any budget.

Ultimately, it's your body and your decision how you do it but if you want to be smart about it and keep that weight off, it's millions of miles better to do it with healthy eating and a challenging workout program. And you don't need Shakeology to do it. It might not be as fast as you are hoping for but it's better for your body and better for you mentally. Don't stress so much about the numbers. It's more about how your new, healthy lifestyle makes you feel and improves your life and well-being. The weight -will- come off.
