HHA and myfitnesspal
HHA and myfitnesspal

Hey all,
So I'm trying to use myfitnesspal to track my calories. (If you know of anything better, whether it's a free app that works with iPod Touch or is just online, let me know.) However, I want to try to put in my workouts too. However, I do not know what HHA (or any other Beachbody program for that matter) would fall under. I was told some time ago that mostly Beachbody stuff would be considered "aerobic" with a few exceptions like Power 90 Sculpt. However, is HHA considered high impact, low impact, or just general? I was thinking it is more low impact, but, please, correct me I'm wrong!!

Thanks for the input!

Hi!
I just started HHA yesterday and I use my fitness pal as well. i was logging it under aerobics - low impact. Do you have a heart rate monitor? If so, you can add your own exercise in as well - something like Hip Hop Abs with HRM (heart rate monitor) and then the amount of time / calories burned. I've done that also! Best of luck on HHA. I'm loving it so far - are you?
Best,
Lisa

Hey Lisa,
No, don't have a hear rate monitor.
I am liking it. Haven't been able to do it as much as I'd like cuz of some other health issues that have decided that now would be a good time to poke their little annoying heads into my life again. LOL. But I am doing what I can. :-)

When using myfitnesspal, if you are logging your workouts you need to remember that depending on what calorie intake you are shooting for the workouts will show as calories burned. This could cause you to eat more than you would want to enable you to lose weight.

For example: If I am aiming for an 1800 calorie intake each day (this was calculated based on my BMR, my workout level and a defiect number that will allow for a healthy weight lose) If I log my workout into myfitnesspal the program will take what I have eaten during the and allow back calories based on my workout. Which could have you think you have calories left in the day when you dont.

I hope that made sense. I log my food on myfitnesspal but log my workouts in the WOWY Supergym on this site.

If I can help in any way please feel free to ask.

I've been on mfp for over a year now and love the site..I use a HRM and create my own exercise...zumba..just created Hip Hop Abs...I listed the amount of calories my HRM showed I burned. In the future if I burn more..cause I may do higher impact HHA..then I just adjust my calories burned. Hope this help...

also I think it's important to log you activity combined with you food....sometimes on high workout days I need to eat more.....I want to keep my metabolism going amd going and going....

Thanks for you answers.
I am not looking to loose very much weight. I am already at a healthy weight. I am wanting to tone up more than anything so whatever weight is lost just is. I also have a pretty fast metabolism. It's so hard to take all that into context with all the other pieces.
And this talk of heart rate monitors makes me wish I could get one. LOL! It might go wonky on me though because I have a heart condition that might make the HRM not quite be as accurate. IDK.
Thanks again for the responses!
