Hello to anyone who happens to pop in here cuz you caught the subject line!

Super excited to embark on this journey with anyone who wants to join me on the same day I start this program. Preferably, I would like to partner up with people who are doing Insanity for the 1st time. I just feel like for the 1st timers, this would be a new experience for all of us. It would be awesome to have a Coach pop in here, too.

Looking forward to have a "partna in crime" or "partnas in crime" who have the same fitness/weight loss/lifestyle goals for support, motivation, humor, and at the end of the 8 weeks: triumph....then do it all over again. Quite honestly, for me.....I just want to finish the 1st 8 weeks.

Never done Insanity, although I've owned it for over a year now. I finally took it out of the box and have decided to make the next 8 weeks be about me, for me cuz no one else can.....even if they want to.

Thanks for reading!

Hi Grace!

Awesome decision to pull it out of the box! I have a few people starting up today that I could connect you with for some motivation. Get ready to dig deep!

Hi I started for the first time today also.

Spent last week getting ready by doing a mix of hip hop abs and slim in 6 so that exercising wasnt a massive shock and on Saturday did Plyometric from Insanity just to see if I could do it, and today I did the fitness test.

These are my results:-

Switch Kicks - 50 (2 kicks count as 1)
PowerJumps - 29
Power Knees - 51
Globe Jumps - 7 (Starting to struggle at this point)
Suicide Jumps - 9 (Bit poor, but found these really hard)
Push up Jacks - 15 (Better than I thought I could do as my arm strength is pretty poor)
Low Plank Obliques - 35

Afterward I felt just as whacked as after I had finished Plyometrics the other day, with approx 30 mins till I felt recovered.

But I do feel a sense of acheivement and am looking forward to the next 60 days.
Good luck to everyone else who started today.

Great job guys!!! If you work hard and stick with the program for the next 60 days you will really be surprised at how much stronger and fitter you will get! It's a tough program, but you can do it!!

And great fit test results too, Gocompletelynuts!

Best of luck!

First timer here as well. I did do the Asylum in November.

I've also started a group for people starting Insanity. IF you sounds like your goals are the same as ours. Come on over and join the group!!

Did my fit test first thing this morning because historically when I put something off, it becomes tomorrow. Tomorrow becomes next week to next month. I did that for many, many years. Doing something different this time.

I didn't do a lot because I was concentrating on the form.

Here are my numbers (don't laugh). I see it as a starting point. Can't be superstar on the 1st day, I figured.

Switch kicks: 50
Power jacks: 30
Power knees: 67
Power jumps: 22
Globe jumps: 5 (I was dying here)
Suicide jumps: 8 (Yeap, they are suicide jumps alright)
Push-up jacks: 10
Low plank oblique: 17

Working out at 445am CST tmrw. Goodnight y'all.

Hello everyone!

I too have just started Insanity for the first time. Did my fit test yesterday (1/14) & my first actual workout today.
That was rough. I am looking for buddies, so we can talk & support each other.

This is the first workout i am actually really excited to do & i am afraid that excitement just might fade.

Hi Guys! I also started Insanity yesterday (1/14) for the first time! I did Chalene Extreme about a year ago but regularly I try to do some cardio throughout the week (like 30 min sessions) so this is a big challenge for me. I have trouble pushing myself and I think that is why I usually don't see results.

Ashley - I fear the same about the excitement fading but I'm going to try to use these message boards as motivation as well as looking at other peoples results. I really want to complete this so I can prove to myself that I am capable of such an intense fitness program.

I'd love to stay in touch with everyone is this thread! Today's workout was definitely tough!! I decided to workout at 6am before work since I usually don't have enough time afterwards...Interested to see what the rest of the week holds for us emoticon

Hey guys!

I started only 1 week earlier with my fitness test on 1/7/13. So I am only 1 week ahead of ya. In one weeks time I went 253 to 240 and lost 1.25 inches on my belly. I can say this, as the days go by, I felt totally out of place on Sunday 1/13/13 my day off. The work outs are hard... BUT... results happened fast. I simply did what the screen told me to do, work at my pace and proper form. Seems to be working for me so far. Not looking forward to the level out phase of weight lose but I'll get past it.

Good Luck all, and keep with it!

Jeff

I started yesterday as well! I purchased Insanity about a year ago but was never able to complete the program...I'm determined to get through it this time around so I'm all in. I'm doing today's workout in a couple hours so tell me how it went for all of you!

Great job guys! Looks like you are all ready to go and all have great attitudes too, which will really take you far here. These workouts are tough, but not impossible either.

I'm working on P90X and Insanity and am really loving it!! I just got over the flu last week so I know it's going to take a day or 2 to get my legs back under me! Have a great workout, and let's rock this thing!!

Hi Hilary,

I've always wanted to try Chalene's other program! I did TJ for a while.

Quite truthfully, the excitement faded in and out as I kicked my own butt. I just wanted to stop the DVD and give up. I did that when I did the Plyo cardio, doing the "Basic 1 Drills" or something like that....oh and the ins and outs.

I need everyone's help to check up on me tmrw cuz I have to do my workout in the evening.

I'm a first timer, started on the 14th also. Did my fit test on the 13 th. I've gotten through the first two workouts now. I've never done any of these programs and always been skeptical. I've worked out on/off at the gym for years, mostly weights but never really stuck to to a program. After the first two workouts, I'm pretty impressed, dripping sweat like I never did at the gym, and my legs are as soar now as they ever were after weight lifting. I hope I can stick it out and get some results. The diet will be my biggest challenge!! Support from a group here could help motivation. Good luck.

Looks like we are all in similar situations and could really use support/motivation from each other so this thread is great!

Grace- I loved Chalene Extreme! Its mostly weight training which was a great intro for me, as someone who didn't know anything about strength training. I saw the most results in my arms, legs, and gluts. I've been wanting to try Turbo Jam!! I am sure I should've done that before Insanity but oh well lol.

Today's workout, Cardio resistance, was not as bad as yesterdays Plyometrics. I think the Plyo will probably be the hardest this month (I hope so at least lol). I enjoyed today's alot actually, curious what "Cardio Recovery" will be like tomorrow.

Great job everyone, half way done with week one!

Hey guys,

Here is a little video I made in the fall about a serious condition called OSTS that affects many people doing Insanity. Don't fall victim to this!!

Check it out:

Keep up the great work! And Hilary--the term "recovery" in Cardio Recovery is a bit misleading. It's still a tough workout, but it does help.

I did the plyo circuit this morning and yeah, not my best performance. I had the flu for a week so it's still taking some time to get my legs back under me. Felt good to sweat though!!

Have a great day, guys!!

Just finished day 3 cardio recovery. Very different than the first 2 workouts. I won't spoil it for you, but helps if you've done yoga before.
