Shakeology replacement
Shakeology replacement
insanity shakeology muscle milk soccer protein shake snack

Hi all! I know shakeology is what beach body enforces but I really don't want something so expensive! Are there any good things to take some kind of place of it as a snack/meal replacer? My college for soccer has me drinking muscle milk collegiate after lifting to gain muscle but I don't think that's what I need to be drinking for breakfast or anything. Also can I keep drinking muscle milk during insanity after my workouts? Thanks!

There really is nothing that can replace Shakeology for what it is. Its so nutritious rich and give your body every thing it needs. You wont find a replacement that will come close to comparing with it. Muscle milk is alright for post workout. There is cheaper things to go with like a 100% whey protein powder instead. ITs cheaper and effective. Thats what i drink post workout! HOpe that helps.

You could make your own shakes and add as many healthy ingredients as possible! You won't match it, but it's a good alternative! Try blending kale or spinach with fruit - blueberries, cherries, cantaloupe, some flax seeds, a whey protein powder and milk or coconut water. See what you can create that will give you max nutrients. Spinach does not change the taste of shakes at all. Kale can be noticed a bit emoticon You can also throw in apple, carrot, dragon fruit, kiwi. Again, try to get in as many different kinds of fruits and veggies as you can over the course of a day!! You can chop them and freeze them to save them and add just a bit at a time.

Absolutely. Just make yourself a smoothie with as many fruits/veggies as you like, and toss in some protein powder and you're good.

Eating veggies/fruits in the whole form is always going to be superior to a supplement (yes, even Shakeology) because you don't miss out on the fiber and other micronutrients that can get lost/degraded in the processing of said plants.

Hope that helps.

Bandit's answer is a good one. Making your own fresh juices and smoothies is always good (though not necessarily cheap.)

I just chimed in to say that I think Muscle Milk is basically junk food. I'd skip it and focus on nutritious, whole foods.

As a post workout "meal" I read that we should keep the ratio of 1:3 or 1:4 protein to Carb. so in this case shouldn't we "count" the calories from the sweet fruits that we add the shake, right? so what should it be 100 cal from Whey protein (about 30 gr) and around 300 cal from fruits? is that the right way to do it?
and does fruits make a good choice ? cause fast absorbing sugar.

thanks

Andrew, this is another one of many posts, including my own, about the high cost
of Shakeology. Just wondering, are these getting to the people who market this product?

Fruit isn't a particularly fast absorbing form of sugar, no. Fiber slows the absorption. If you want to make your own recovery drink you're better off mixing your own using dextrose or maltodextrin (or both) and protein powder.

And, yes, you need to account for the calories.

The best place to send your price concerns would be to your BB coach and/or to the customer service email.

Thanks Andrew. I would think Customer Service people are already looking over these board every so often to see items of concern and this does pop up a lot. I really do like the Shakeology product just wish it was less expensive so I could buy it more often emoticon
(and the origianl chocholate flavour was much better ;) )
Anyway, appreciate that the posts on this are not simply deleted by some over zealous marketing people. In that regard, BB is really to be commended for the presence of these boards and allowing people to speak of their experiences, both negative and positive, with BB products.
