Hi,
Im in week 2 of p90x2 and am having lots of fun with it but I just can't seem to take in the calories I need.
im 6ft and 10.1st or 141.4 pounds with a really fast metabolism. I have worked out that I need to be eating around 3500cal a day to put on 1-2 pounds a week but at the moment im having a really hard time doing that and over the last two weeks have lost 2 pounds.

My meal plan so far is

wake up at 8am- porridge with extra nuts = 500

10.30 supplement shake 510

1pm lunch sushi 350

1.30pm snack peanut butter and carrots sticks =200

3pm-3:30 2nd lunch. Chicken + Potatoes = 350-400

5pm 3ed lunch Thai Prawn Noodles with veg. = 350

6:15 Workout for a hour then Supplement drink = 510

Dinner at 8.30pm Pasta/Rice with veg and meat = 400
total cal 3,110 ( and thats with me eating 6 times a day ! )

All I drink in the day is water and all my food is cooked in a healthy way, I don't drink any Alcohol or fizzy drinks in the week but I do have ONE glass of red wine on Friday and Sat nights with my dinner.
One thing I was thinking is to have one " Dirty meal " a day, Like a large big mac and fries as it would add over 1000cals in one meal.

I have never been able to gain weight and its really starting to get me down as I can't keep doing the p90x2 program if im losing a pound a week. I really want to keep at it but I really do need some help.

Any help would be great.
Thanks for Reading.
Rick

How many calories are you light? You could add coconut oil which is very good for you to drinks and meals...one tablespoon has 117 calories...so that might help you add a lot.I wouldnt suggest dirty meals tho. You can also eat more nuts...walnuts etc are very high calorie and have alot of good nutrients. For one walnut half has 13 calories.
Hope this helps

Agree with this, also look to bump your weight and lower reps on resistance exercises where possible and perhaps consider using a weighted vest. You'll reach failure in resistance sets sooner which will help you add mass.

Thanks for taking the time and the advice, I will try and add more weight and also eat more nuts. The only thing is at this rate I will have to eat a bag of nuts a day on top of my 5 meals and that can't be good for me, Right ?

No, I wouldn't just do it with nuts. Try a little more beans, a little more meat. Blend it with adding in some extra 'good carbs' too with green vegetables, whole grains, and various beans and seeds.
