KHurleyMA:
I've only been doing p90x for a little over a week, but I've noticed some pain in my feet when doing the higher impact exercises. Does this sound like an injury, or more of a conditioning problem? Will it ease up with time, and what (if anything) should I do during the workouts to lessen the pain? I refuse to give up, so I need a solution. Thanks!

I'm just wearing a basic running sneaker. They are a bit old. Maybe its time to try some new ones. Thank you for the advice. Its truly appreciated.
Good afternoon
KHurleyMA!
Your attitude is definitely a winning one that is for sure! It may be an injury but it sounds like it could be a possible footwear problem. I ran into the same issue with a pair of old running shoes I was using for my first round P90X. The pain died down a couple of weeks later but every so often it would come back. It also didn't help I was on my feet all day either. When I replaced my shoes, pain was gone almost immediately. The shoes I use currently are the Brooks Glycerin 9. Though they are a running shoe, they work for me especially during Insanity.
I have a question, are the inserts of your shoes worn? If so, you can get replacement inserts at most shoe or sporting goods store if you don't want to buy brand new shoes. If the soles are worn, you may have to get a new pair. I spoke to a gentleman at a shoe store regarding this problem and he said most people can keep the same shoes (as long as they are not terribly worn) and just replace the inserts to fit their needs.
One way to avoid pain from the higher impact moves is to modify them. You may not be jumping up and down like you normally would but it may ease the pain significantly. With the modified moves, as long as you engage the core and go deeper into the movement of the exercise, you will get the same calorie and muscle burn.
Let us know if you have any other questions! I hope this goes away for you real soon! Way to BRING IT!
