Gave into temptation....
Gave into temptation....
1/16/13 11:27 AM
Hi guys! I'm posting here because I don't have a specific group or person to hold me accountable right now, and I feel someone should after my bad move this morning. I text my husband at midnight when he is getting off from work to please stop somewhere on the way home and get something for our two year old to eat for breakfast. I guess I don't really know what I was expecting him to grab at midnight from the store but when I woke up this morning there was a dozen Krispy Kreme sugar glazed square donuts. I avoided them like the plague for a couple hours, I truly did. I even ate a bowl of oatmeal. My stomache growled at the sight of those damn donuts, so I gave in and ate one. Now I feel like a little kid caught with her hand in the cookie jar. I'm very angry with myself. I'm finishing my 3rd week of Turbofire today, and I've done fantastic at sticking to a really good diet. Now I feel like I've blown it. Would it hurt to do an extra workout in addition to my already scheduled ones? Something like Core Cardio and Balance, or even more intense if need be. Thanks.

First, stop beating yourself up. It was one donut not the whole box. (You didn't eat the whole box did you?) emoticon

You are looking at an extra few hundred calories. It will happen every now and then so just accept it and move on. You CAN work in some extra cardio if you feel up to it. I will do this from time to time to make up for some bad eating, just take care not to overtrain. Keep going and keep working!

Dont be to hard on yourself. Stuff happens and sometimes our temptation will get the best of us. The key is to know what you did, know its in the past, and in the present and future you will do better. 1 day wont kill your results. Id love to help you stay accountable. I sent you a buddy request!

Also if your body can handle it, there is no reason you cant do another workout! A cardio workout would be preferred! Do your best and forget the rest! Dont stress on one bad move! emoticon

I completely agree ... definitely DO NOT beat yourself up!! There will be slip ups along the way ... this is a journey about making small improvements over time that seem like HUGE leaps at the end ;-) Just keep moving forward and DO NOT dwell on the donut. It happened and that's it ;-) You can workout a little more to burn it off ... or just let it be. I mean, the fact that you tried to avoid it and eat oatmeal first is a HUGE indication that you're already making some positive and healthy changes. Maybe in the past you wouldn't have thought twice!! So celebrate that ;-)

If you are looking for a group to join to help with accountability, I have one forming that will officially start in February, although I am posting on it daily to keep myself accountable (see the link below). You are more than welcome to join. I also use myfitnesspal to keep myself accountable with my food intake (I had a chocolate shake to other day...it happens). My screenname is Everett9239 so feel free to friend me. Would love to help you in your journey!

Relax it was one donut. Dont hang on to that you did it now keep it moving. In order to not feel so restricted in healthy eating I allow myself to have a treat weekly. That way i don't feel like im on a diet but a new & healthier way of eating. If you eat clean 80% of the time you will be fine. If you want to have a cheat meal have a meal not a day. If you want a donut have one not a dozen. Use my fitness pal as someone suggested & track your meals & snacks.
