Well, I'm a fan of going all beast, but if you do, be prepared for the sore to follow.

Pace yourself but give solid effort so that you have a baseline for what you are getting your body into. You will probably get pretty sore the first week so I recommend drinking lots of water as well as consuming Shakeology, a whey protein, Results & Recovery, or good old fashioned low fat chocolate milk within an hour of completing your workout. This will help with sorenes and help your body replace some of the nutrients it needs for muscle repair and growth.
You want to keep your heart rate in a good and safe working zone as much as possible to maximize caloric burns. Around 65-85% of your max heart rate is a good baseline. Your max heart rate is 220 - your age in years.
