beverages in addition to water
Hey there eveyone, i'm new to the site. My wife and I have begun the p90x journey and we couldn't be happier. Dont want to bore you all with the story, but it's pretty much like everyone elses. 4 children under the age of 6, 2 jobs, etc, etc... Never thought we'd find the time, but we did, and we love it. Just began week 3 of phase 1 and so far so good.. down 11 pounds, and feel great. turned our diets upside down and really trying to hit all of our nutritional marks.. i know water is essential, however at times, i need a little something else.. we cut the soda, diet soda, iced teas etc... are flavored seltzers an acceptable beverage in addition to water? i've also seen ads for MIO flavored water enhancer. I've seen good and bad reviews for it.. finally, how does coffee factor into the mix? i was a coffee junkie both at home and at work.. when we started the program, i dropped it cold turkey and feel great, but ever now and then i get a hankering for my morning cup.. how does caffeine fit iinto the overall plan? thanks everyone.. sorry for the long post, just wanted to get a few things squared away in my head....

Everybody has different opinions on coffee. If you want have a cup. Its not gonna hurt your results as long as your not adding cream and sugar to it! Also from time to time i might have a little bit of G2 gatorade. Its not the best thing i could be drinking but it helps and i dont drink it often! Non sugar teas are ok. Also adding a bit of lemon juice to your water is good too! Hope this helps a bit!

I agree about the coffee, I've been having a couple of cups black each morning and am still seeing results...granted I'm only ending my second week tonight/tomorrow, but still. It is normally all of the extra crud that'll weigh and slow you down.
I also agree about tea, we even just bought a pile of the Yogi Stomach Ease which helps with digestion, I have to say that the flavor isn't really for everyone though...I'm working on acquiring the taste myself.
Oh! I heard about the lemon juice to water too, it's also a way to find out if you might have an ulcer or something if you have some pain after drinking it.
